Why would I bother to play a game with such...'Paltry' graphics? (lol nevermind if you don't understand what the apostrophies are for) Truth is,I'm not a huge fan of Shin Megami Tensei games,but I can't say the same for the Persona series.
This game is hands down awesome. Once you pick up the controller,you wouldn't want to put it down. Its not only the fights that make up the awesome gameplay, you get to socialise with other NPCs during your 'off-time' , and there are a lot of choices you can make which will impact the course of your gaming experience , in contrast to Final Fantasy games , where everything is already planned out for us,and there is little room to make decisions. Not that I'm bashing on the FF series , because I'm also a huge fan of FF games , I'm just pointing out the advantages of the Persona series over the FF series. Besides, its original too - Agi , Bufu , Garu , Zio !!
Hell,what am I talking about? None of what I say does the Persona series any justice,its the kind of game thats too awesome to describe!! Hope that explained why I'm playing Persona ( I don't think it did,though :O)

I started the game on my PSP , decided to appreciate the 'intro song' . Hell, it was dark as hell,a jester shedding tears of blood,the main character 'taking off' his mask , displaying his inner 'demon' , streets filled with demons disguising as humans.. It gets darker by the second.. and I'm already starting to wuss out before even playing,haha! Still, the music was nice,so was the video.
Entering the game,we meet the MC . I was gonna name him after my true name but he already had a default name ; and an awesome one at that - Tatsuya Suou . I like the Suou , the 'Ou' can stand for 'King' in Japanese,so it makes you think that this guy was born to be a leader,awesome isn't it?
Hm but in reality his name is 周防 (Su ou). I was expecting something like 肃王( also read as Su ou),which obviously is cooler,but who cares? Everything is in English,so as long as I picture the MC as a king,he is one!
He's repairing his bike,suddenly 2 random people come and interrupt his privacy,at first,I thought they were gonna make the MC beat up the 2 dudes or give em the death glare and make them scram,but instead,my predictions were wrong(as always). Tatsuya starts awakening to his Persona right then and there, with the epic quote ringing within his head.. " I am you,You am I" ..Damn,I love that no matter how many times they use it in Persona games.
Hmmhmmmhmm~ Another interesting part to this game is, there is a TON of dialouge (1000kg-ish,not an overestimate unlike most cases) . Everytime you progress through the story, even by initiating insignificant cutscenes , the dialogues of ALMOST all the NPC changes ; and whatever they say never makes me bored,as they carry some sort of importance to the story,be it circulating rumours or just comedic conversations.
These 2 characters are like oil and water,they can't mix and can't stop bickering,its funny most of the time hahah,sometimes I just pity Michel 'cuz he doesn't even know that people are laughing at him most of the time.All in all,Michel is really original,never encountered his type before - narcissistic,not to mention warped sense of fashion.

As for Lisa, I really like her,she is super cute and really sweet when she's around Suou. She has a mad crush on him,BTW. That said,I'm a big fan of Suou x Lisa. :D If there ever comes a choice to be made whether Suou chooses to be with Lisa or Maya,I'd choose Lisa in a heartbeat.
OK,time to delve into the story. Ekichi assumedly 'kidnapped' Kozy,but he himself didn't even know that LOL. His lackeys (friends) did all of the dirty work,but only for the sake of recruiting Suou into the new band he is making. Loyal to say the least.
After some mini-fights that I had no control over,Joker appears.
He looks scary,doesn't he.Can't blame me for being pussy )8
He turns Michel's friends into Shadowmen,people without any ideals nor motivation in life,which is really a sad existence that I think most of us,as humans, have gone through at least once in our lives,even without Joker's intervention.
Suou,Lisa and Michel,the first 2 having newly awakened to their Personas,launch a joint attack on Joker,only to have him shrug it off as 'paltry offense' , and 1-hitting Suou and company.
Then,as Joker is about to kill them,they ask Joker something Joker finds very unacceptable. They do not know what they have done to incur Joker's wrath. Joker being unable to swallow the fact that they do not remember what they have done to him,let them off the hook,and swore that he would end them by sending his 'assasins' (demons) to kill them.
This makes me really curious about the storyline, and I read something on the net about P2 - Eternal Punishment or something,and that makes me wonder,am I playing Persona II-2 right now? Or will things get clearer as the story progresses? Regardless,we will move on.
Differing from Persona 3/4,not only the MC is able to weild multiple personas,all the characters in the party is capable of such a feat. Despite that, each character has their own affinities towards personas of different arcana. Michel is very compatible with Persona of the Death arcana,Suou-Sun,Lisa-Lovers and so on.
Besides,there are 4 people present in the velvet room (5,including Philemon,their master) , which is also different to Persona 3/4.
Even so,you can tell that this game is among the PERSONA franchise,due to the awesome song that plays in the Velvet room.
Then we enter Seven Sisters high,where the clocktower which has frozen for so long,has starting working again. And something about the world ending if it does start. Quite creepy when I blog about it,but when I was playing,it all felt natural.
The talk about the Seven Pleaides made me check it up on the net. Apparently, its about stars.I didn't dive in any deeper than that,too deep for my understanding,heheh.Still,I'm interested in the lore and am hoping that I'll understand it as the story goes on.
Shortly after,we meet Maya and Yukino,both of them which others acclaim to be 'hot' in game,although I wouldn't say they make me breathless,but Yukino has some huge racks and Maya is an overall good-looker.
By the way,Yukino was the dullest out of the 5 characters in my party,until I learnt that she might have had a roll in the past Persona game,either in Eternal Punishment or even Persona 1,not sure.This has made me interested in her,otherwise I would have continued feeling 'meh,doesn't matter to me if you suddenly died'.
Maya gets more adorable as the game goes on,we learn more about her and she shows cuter parts of herself.And gets closer to Suou too. Although I would be bashing her if she were any other girl,'cuz she's very likeable,I'll abstain.But I'm still Lisa-Suou.
Break all the clocks,Principal 'Hamya' makes an announcement (Lol @ Yukino) and orders a halt in the MC's actions. Ignoring the warning like a boss,we head to kick Hanya's ass. When everyone sees Joker,Lisa,Maya and Michel become mysteriously nostalgic,which piques my interest in the story more than ever before.
After kicking Hanya's ass,I picked the 'he's still alive' option,in contrast to my 'no,he didn't make it' during my first playthrough (corrupted file,screw that). I'm following a guide now,and the guide said there will be no major impact on the storyline,just some funnier stuff occuring if Hanya survives.
Next,rumours are coming true,if you spread them, they'll come true,no matter how nonsensical the rumour is. As an example,during my first playthrough,I spread the rumour that Hanya didn't make it,even though he did. As a result,everyone spread the rumour that he died. True enough, he died,dropped to the floor ON THE SPOT,like a Death Note sentence. Awesome. Then Yukino suggested something funny ; to spread the rumour that Hanya came back to life , freaking funny shit..
Next , we enter club Zodiac. There,we learn that Kozy has REALLY been kidnapped this time,and we also meet Yoshizaka Anna,who acts like a 'shadowman' , super depressed and no goal in life. Yukino,assumedly understanding what Anna is going through,attempts to save Anna,just as she herself was saved by her teacher. My predictions ? She'll die trying.Literally. Sad I know,but things just feel like they'll turn out that way.
Michel rushes to save Kozy,and an epic cutscene starring yours truly,Ekichi Mishina. Manly as hell,even though the girl he used to love turned into a 'hambeast' (didn't come from me,I'm not THAT mean),he stood up for her,threatening to give them an ass whoopin' if they did anything to her. Hands down,my respect for Michel skyrocketed,now THAT is a man. For her safety,he even took a few slashes from a knife,and when the baddies let their guard down,here comes the BAWS! He kicked the kidnapper's ass,without Suou and co.'s help.
Next,we enter Kasugayama High,a.k.a Cuss High in the English version,and if I'm not wrong , 'Kasu' High in Japanese which stands for garbage/rubbish. Brilliant job on the translators' part on not directly translating Kasugayama High into 'Garbage High' and instead,'Cuss High' which is also a negative description for a school.
Pretty uneventful if I do say so myself, went on a wild goose chase for some sissy which dies not long after, the whole school was on that guy's side too,but maybe it wasn't their fault ; maybe he made the same wish as Hanya did. Anyway, we learn that Anna is one of the 4 executives of the enemy organisation,and she is pissed off with Yukino for trying to intervene in her life,and takes things personally when it comes to Yukino.
Now also comes a guy called 'King Leo',which is kinda cool,but he is described as a crazy guy who hears voices and appears to be a serious arsonist,which makes him scaaaa~ry.And also,he has been chasing Maya since she was a kid...WTF? C'mon lay off her man,you tripping brah. And King Leo was also talking about the Oracle of Maya thing,and oddly enough,Maya and her persona Maia have something to do with the Seven Pleaides that I can't seem to point out.
So,the 'theme' for this game is dreams,ideals,stars,the future. I assume things will pick up steam and inspire us,the player as we reach the end of this epic game.
OK,continuing from the first encounter with King Leo. I really pity Maya,and am slowly liking her more and more,she seems like she had a really sad past,and the cheerful facade she puts on is used to hide her tragic past.I , as Suou hope to be able to comfort her and rid her of her trauma of King Leo,arsons and wild fires.
Next,we continue from where I left off (where my file got corrupted) during the first playthrough.
We're entering a new arc,Lisa's arc,where her friends made a wish to Joker to make the 3 of them(Lisa and her 2 friends) idols. They were given a helping hand by Ginji Sasaki,who later introduced himself as King Taurus. His whole look,together with the mask,was quite cool,if I may say so myself.
Lisa also finally disclosed why she never treated her 2 friends as true friends. She thought those two only approached her because they wanted to hang around a popular,cute girl,that boys would approach them more if they befriended Lisa.She also let out that she has been very stressed since she was a child,being a Japanese-born American. She was treated differently and discriminated due to her hair colour and caucasian appearance. When I hear this,I feel very sore inside,as you can relate to the characters in these kind of genius games,you're actually able to imagine what they'd been through and thus sympathise with them. Kudos to the game producers on this note.Lisa , similar to Maya,has a tragic past,and if only polygamy was practiced in Japan! I'd take Lisa and Maya as my wife in a heartbeat (as Suou ofc.)
After kicking Taurus' ass,he turned Lisa's pals into shadowmen,stealing their ideals. Only then Lisa realised that they truly treated her as a friend,and not a means to become popular. Though,it might have been a tad too late. Nevertheless, we're going to save you,Sheba,Mee-ho!Count on it.
By the way,I do notice that Michel and Lisa recall the same things ,like playing the Persona Games,or sharing similar dreams during their childhood. This leads me to thinking..Is it possible?? Michel-Lisa?? That event isn't too out of here,its acceptable,since when you always argue with someone,you get more intimate with the person,and if you're tired of arguing,you might even go into a mutual understanding and make up,right?
That said,I wouldn't mind if Lisa and Michel got together,but still,I'm a loyal fan of Ginko-Tatsuya. ^_^ Not to mention Michel's golden quote when I said 'Wait and See what happens' when prompted to save Lisa or hold till later. "If anything happens to Lisa,your ass is mine!" GREAT !
King Leo rigged some bombs here and there,though thats just the story and I'm more interested in the 5 main chars and the interaction between them. Aoba stadium,where we fought with King Taurus,exploded,thanks to King Leo.After the explosion,Maya's pyrophobia resurfaced,and as Tatsuya,I had the luxury to decide whether to comfort her gently or to slap her,I would choose to slap her if they didn't reveal her sad past,but since they did,I started to sympathise with Maya and opted to gently comfort her... :)
Now,I'm off to disarm the bombs King Leo planted at Hirasaka,until I progress further,Tatsuya Suou,over and out.
Woke up in the morning,cleared Smile Hirasaka dungeon in quite a relaxed manner before going to my English classes. We started out the dungeon at..the 4F toilet. We agreed to split up to look when Michel Ekichi got held up by an old lady janitor,LOL @ Michel !
With the help of my trusty walkthrough (best spoiler-free walkthrough of any game EVER).. I cleared the dungeon rather quickly. Backtracked to Smile 4F toilet,lo and behold,Michel was still being reprimanded by the janitor,lol~
Janitor was in possesion of the detonation transmitter..who'd have thought..hehe. Without her own knowledge of course.
Besides,there were demons who locked themselves up in each restroom,and came out when they noticed we discovered where the transmitter was..Like,come on,is there no better place to hide,like the ceiling or something? Or just emerge from a black portal dudes,coming out of toilets are plain comical.
There was this random Belphegor sub-boss who claimed to be a "seeker of harmony on Earth",with a badass voice actor too,too bad he never had a huge role in the game..Nah just saying.So I beat Ixquin (female cosplayer boss) and Bel rather quickly. Maya gave Ix some first aid so that she'd survive,and left Bel to die I s'ppose.
Next,off to Yumezaki GOLD.Don't remember anything special about this dungeon/building..Oh yeah. Maya's roommate named Ulala,hahah.Great boxer who is proclaimed as a beauty but has no luck with men,not that I'd care,since I'm only interested in Lisa and Maya in P2. :P
Halfway into the dungeon,I entered a random room and Tatsuya saved Maya from a gym equipment which fell down out of nowhere.Nothing else except the equipment came crashing down,and not a trace was left after the equipment hit concrete ground..Yeah it lacks logic,but this game is already SO GREAT..who cares? Entered another random room,and the same thing happened to Michel,except for the fact that Tatsuya didn't plunge in to save him,which was quite funny,and still illogical. A few hundred kilograms worth of metal just dropped on Michel,and for that much shit to 'befall' him,he only got off with a slight headache.Hell,he's as tough as the karate dude who is used as the practice dummy in KOF XIII trialls,who gets away with a small headache even after you unleash your sickest combos on him. Tough as a nail!
This dungeon was quite rushed since I had like 20 minutes to complete it,as I was rushing to go for my English classes.Never the less, the experience was quite fulfilling. Next,I encountered a guy who seems to be working for the 'Queen',in the "Masked Circle",I was all ready to enter a boss fight,when Ulala shows up and decides to kick his ass for us. Ulala is kinda strong to be taking on a boss by herslef huh.. >_>
Afterwards,King Leo gives us an invitation to Kounan airport.I'm SO READY to kick his ass,although I thought I was going to go through the other 2 executives before going for the 'King'.
Oh well. Twas a 10 minute dungeon which I wasn't allowed to save as long as I'm not done with it.Have to say it would suck if I was playing it on a PS1,where had a power outage occured,I'd have to redo the whole dungeon.TGIPSP :)
Some things worthy of note while in the dungeon : Ixquin was stranded on an airplane suspended on strings and was on the verge of crashing due to the blazing flames.WTF ? She asked King Leo later why he wanted to get rid of her but I was like -___-How the F did you get yourself into that awkward situation in the first place.
Saved some kids,let Maya do all the heroic stuff by herself...and Ixquin hugged Maya after she was saved..I expect the stereotypic "You saved me,but we're still enemies,I'll kill you!" shit,but she just cried to Maya like a sweet girl,now THATS an enemy I don't mind saving..She is sweet right to the very end..Makes me warm inside :)
Moving on..Oh yeah! I also liked the part where everyone tried to calm the children in Kounan Museum down before asking them to evacuate,but I loved how Tatsuya evacuated them : He just..STARED at them , and they knew they had to scram,for one reason or the other..LOL!
Later,King Leo drops/removes his mask,reveals himself as Tatsuya SuDou..Lol...Close enough..
I was shocked when I saw King Leo in one of my image searches for Tatsuya and saw him talk like a psychopath..Thats when I was led into thinking.."Maybe I should play Eternal Punishment too,one way or the other". Thank god it was Tatsuya SuDou who was the psycho,and not an alternative parallel world Tatsuya Suou like I previously imagined.
So,King Leo fell down from the rooftop of the Museum,through the floors and possibly right down to the first floor. When he survived,I wasn't surprised at all,and the other characters were like "WOAHH HE'S SO RESILIENT."C'mon guys
.Even cannon fodder like Hanya (boss from early-game) could survive a four-story plunge,after being SEVERELY injured by Tatsuya and Co. What makes you think that one of the top guns of the enemy team would die by dropping through 4 or more stories?!
Sure,the building was burning and on the verge of crumbling..Wait a minute..maybe THATS why Leo survived..He absorbed the flames like he does during battles!? Lol,that'd be a great explanation wouldn't it. xD. What I found rather out of this world was how Leo could get onto the flying hot weather balloon after it took flight IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEO FELL DOWN TO THE FIRST FLOOR..Yeah thats what made me more curious than how he survived a no-brainer. -_-
Kicked his ass,and we have to evacuate the children on board the crashing balloon. Thats when Tatsuya and Co. decided to get off the flying ship by manually ejecting the ship and jumping into the sea,each of them holding a set amount of children. On this note,Michel was a freaking pussy lol,didn't wanna jump off until Yukino literally kicked his ass,and he went GERONIMOOOOO! haha.
Some assholes spread rumours about the 5 including Tatsuya being terrorists and about them being behind the reason bombings. Maya cleverly staged a counter-rumour to offset this effect.
Next,we enter one of the biggest revelations in the game,which is quite a lot to write on,and also quite a lot of info to digest.Going to write about it tomorrow,off to a bit more P2 before going to bed.OVER.
Been 2 days since I updated,was kinda lazy,hmm..Damn me!
Yeah before that,Tatsuya and group decided to split up and regroup at the detective agency. Ginko was really insecure and requested to head back with Tatsuya,he was like 'Why would you wanna follow me?' ,but after seeing Ginko so 'Holeen',he agreed to let her tag along.
I was thinking that this would be special events between the two of them if I go around different parts of the town,but odd enough,Ginko was too depressed to be in the mood,as she was recalling some very,very bitter memories. Thats why after strolling around Sumaru city,I decided to just head back to the Detective Agency,since even LISA insisted that.I thought she was going to insist on staying together longer but she must be really DOWN right now..On to the agency..
There,we meet Ms.Okamura (a.k.a Miss Ideal,beats me why they would call her that..) She started spouting stuff we didn't know about yet like the Last Batallion,Maian Aliens,In Lak'Ech and so on.That aside,Maya is acting kinda weird ; she's talking like a bitch and the colour of her eyes are different from normal. At the time,I thought that Ms Ideal made Maya recall something about her own race (I thought that she was a Mayan Alien) ,and her blood started to awaken or something. Kinda cool,huh? But if that was the case,she can't be with Suou anymore so...:/
I'm not quite sure where to start myself,so I'll just interview Ms.Ideal over here.
The Last Batallion : An organisation with cutting-edge technology,but not sci-fi laser shit. And also superhuman units called the Order of the Holy Lance which boast of "Anti-Persona" capabilities, with goals to fulfil the 'Fuhrer'(Adolf Hitler)'s dreams,which is to make him a God. The Order also discovered something called the Spear of Destiny , which is a relic of Christ's miracle. And it is 'said' that whoever posseses the Spear of Destiny will rule the world..
I wonder if it being 'said' and people spreading rumours about it is the same. Like,if people spread the rumour that he who posseses the Spear of Destiny will rule the world,that means the Last Batallion,already in possesion of the Spear,is or is going to rule the world,since rumours are coming true.
Moving on,the leader of the Last Batallion seems to be the Fuhrer,and the reason he started the world war was because he wanted to drive man to the brink of extinction and hasten our evolution. I also heard about this in a movie,where that guy also said that pushing mankind to its limits,to the brink of destruction will make us evolve,so I can't say it doesn't make sense.In fact,quite the contrary,the idea is kinda cool,though I don't want to be of the majority that dies (who does? lol).
The history books have recorded him being dead by comitting suicide.But in reality (Persona 2 reality I mean),he learned some magic from the Mayan (alien) mystics which made himself immortal,being the reason he survived thus long.
Next,we enquire about the In Lak'ech. In Lak'ech means 'You are another me' in Mayan.Most likely a referrence to 'Persona'. I'll abbreviate the In Lak'ech as IL. The IL was written by Kashihara,completely based on what King Leo (Tatsuya Sudou) heard from the Mayans,hence the Oracle of Maya could be said to be completely recorded in this book.
Ms Ideal suggested that mankind has evolved too quickly,and there was one suitable explanation for that : It was because we were guided by the Mayans and advanced much further in a shorter amount of time.Although,Ms Ideal also said that the civilization that we are in right now is but a former shadow or what we once were ; something much more majestic.
Now,some things about the Mayan aliens. They came here from the Pleaides,some constellation of stars which I'm not quite sure of myself..but they're aliens with advanced technology and knowledge of sorcery/magics,and have guided the evolution of man since long ago,I know that much.
The Mayans were split into two factions and started a war amongst themselves. One group worshipped the 'Oxlahuntiku'(gods of light) and the other worshipped the Bolontiku(gods of the netherworld).Their war was big enough to 'consume' our solar system,hence almost wiping us out at one point in the past it seems. And the Christian legends of the Flood,which I also not know much about,came to due to the internal strife between the Mayan race.
The Bolontiku faction won the war,but they were so exhausted that they were forced into a slate of slumber. To this day,they are still sleeping below Sumary city,absorbing Ideal Energy from dreaming humans as the fuel for their awakening one day.And I almost missed something,we weren't wiped out due to collateral damage from the war between the Mayans,we were almost wiped out because the winning side,Bolontiku worshippers almost drove us into extinction.
Now,to 'Ideal Energy'.This energy is abstract,in contrast to heat,sound,wind energy which you can witness in life. Its a psychological energy based on our dreams,ideals,hopes for the future.This energy is heightened when we are passionate about our ideals,dreams,plans,etc. Or when our dreams come true,this energy also surges to a peak.This energy of us humans are what the Mayans use as a source of their power. The Mayans devised 'crystal skulls' to drain our Ideal energy for their own using.This very energy is also the fuel to the Mayan spaceship 'Xibalba' .
This spaceship is said to be the key to our evolution,at the cost of our near-destruction. Thats why I speculate that Xibalba contains the technology/energy to perform wide-scale destruction with relative ease,thus resulting in mankind's extinction,propelling our evolution.
Next,into Kashihara-san,who died locked up in the Clock Tower of Seven Sister's High School.He was a great history teacher who loved his students and had a passion for history. He felt guilty about teaching his students what he suspected was wrong since he knew the truth behind some things that should not be disclosed to the public and hence teaching what is written in the students' history textbooks. As he was writing the IL,he felt as if he was being watched,and consequently he was found crushed between the gears in the schools..clocktower..very gruesome indeed!! Must have been killed by the Last Batallion..but..why would they wanna kill someone who made a book about the Oracle of Maya? Because he knew too much? That would also apply to Ms Ideal but I don't see HER dying..
Into..Tatsuya Sudou (again)..He was a former Seven Sister High student,and was a timid boy who was scared of his strict father(same for me and Michel).He was also said to be a troublemaker (how the hell though can a timid boy be a troublemaker?Can't imagine) and an arsonist. Even so,he liked Kashihara-san a lot. Mr Kashihara was also the one to notice Sudou's gift in which he can hear the voices of the Mayans. Kashihara-san gently persuaded Sudou to relay to him what he heard from the Mayans and thus,the In Lak'ech/Oracle of Maya came to. Sudou liked Kashihara as he was the first person to not alienate Sudou-kun. Some time after,Sudou MIGHT have betrayed Ms Ideal + The Masked Circle and told them about Xibalba .Its only a possibility that Sudou-kun was a traitor since King Leo seemingly follows Joker,and it wouldn't do them any good to inform the Last Batallion about the Xibalba.
Hm,thanks to the recalling and short interview,I understand the story a bit better now. :D
After this,Ginko suggests that she has remembered something and leads us into Alaya Shrine,proposing to tell us about the Masked Circle and Joker if we follow her,carrying in her actions a suffocating amount of sorrow.
We follow her into Alaya Shrine,and then into Mount Iwato subsequently.
As for me,I liked Mt. Iwato as a dungeon quite a lot,maybe it was the background music,and the background itself,it was so relaxing ; and the mountain seemed to house a lot of answers,which added to the mysterious/refreshing feeling at the same time..In Mt. Iwato were several reflecting pools,each revealing Tatsuya,Michel and Ginko's time spent together when they were small. After passing through several reflecting pools,we enter a shocking revelation.. Tatsuya,Michel,Ginko,Jun, and 'Big Sis' were members of the original 'Masked Circle',which was a small community which consisted of only 5 children who wanted to have fun together by taking turns being in charge and granting the 'Boss's wishes.There was no malice present in the original Masked Circle,just lots of happiness and ideals for the future.
Tatsuya was Red,Ginko was Pink,Michel was Blue,Jun was Black and Big Sis was Yellow.I was referring to the colour of their masks by the way.
Along my path to the many reflecting pools,I picked up 4 out of the 5 masks the Masked Circle hid inside Mt. Iwato to seal off their memories and convince themselves that they nightmare they went through was just a dream. When we were in the sites where the chests containing the masks were located,there were dialogues of Michel and Ginko slowly coming in terms with themselves over what happened 10 years ago,they were very sad,but at the same time they were slowly accepting their own sins and the faults that they commited oh-so-long ago.Yukino was sympathetic to the group as a Sister would be with her younger siblings,and this 'awakened' Maya was being a jerk,but very straightforward and truthful at the same time.
Maya said that 'sorry' is the most disgusting thing that can come out of our mouths,the reason being,when you say sorry,the person who you said this to is obliged to forgive you and move on,even if they don't feel like it in the very least,that saying 'sorry' pushes the suffering from the offender to the offended.. That,is very very true. I never even doubted or wouldn't try to correct her if I had the chance. As the old saying goes,the truth hurts,but still,Yukino made a bright comeback.
Society has survived until now because we are constantly forgiving others and being forgiven by others,if not for this,humans,who are constantly at fault,can't live in harmony together with each other. As faults are inevitable,so is suffering,is what I think Yukino was trying to convey. Nice one Yukki!
At the last reflecting pool,Big Sis announced to the Masked Circle that she would be moving away after that day. Being unwilling to part with her,Michel,Ginko and Jun forcefully confined her in the Alaya shrine thinking that she wouldn't have to move if she missed the flight to her new home tomorrow. They asked Suou to help with the 'kidnapping',but Tatsuya refused and was adamant about letting Big Sis move on with her life. Guess what? Even Tatsuya was locked inside.LOL! Its funny,but the humour only lasted for a moment ; That night, King Leo came to burn down the shrine..why? I'm not sure as of yet. Then,everyone thought Big Sis had died and Suou survived,but Ginko recalled that she asked her father to call for the police,and they couldn't find ANY corpses on that day. Which meant that Big Sis was most probably still living.
Then Ginko suggested to the Co. That Joker is in fact Big Sis,since King Leo said that Joker's face was as beautiful as a goddess when he took off his mask,and that Big Sis was also as beautiful. Then,Maya showed her true colours ; It wasn't any fancy alien awakening as I had previously speculated,it was only 'Shadow Maya',an evil Maya whihc has been created by rumours spread around,and infiltrated into Tatsuya's group in an attempt to kill them after they had recalled their memories.
Surprise surprise! Maya is the Big Sis Tatsuya,Michel,Ginko and Jun loved back then! And she is still as lovable right now.
Relief,relief. The real Maya Tatsuya (and all of us) know and love,came back,to save Tatsuya and Co. from a surprise attack by Shadow Maya. And so we enter the most badass battle yet in P2.
Shadow Maya's persona kept doing 'Diamond Dust'(Shiva's move in FF) which dealt to my party 80+ damage per person. On top of that half of my team-mates were frozen most of the time. First time I ever felt the danger of losing in the game.
But something epic happened. In times of need,man really does evolve. At this time of urgency,I unwittingly stumbled across a new fusion spell that would turn the tables on Shadow Maya. It was Mediamai.At first,when the fusion spell was pulled out,nothing happened,our HP was still low as hell. But after Suou's turn,everyone started recovering a portion of their HP.Then,I checked the spell description,and it turns out that Mediamai was a HP regen for all the members in the party.Thus,I recovered 40HP each turn without trying which halved Shadow Maya's Diamond Dust threat by half,and I don't need to worry if my mates are frozen,since healing was on auto-pilot.
Yeah!Kicked her ass.Looks like even the game ITSELF recognises Shadow Maya as a big-time adversary,and awarded each of my members 17K~ XP which guranteed 2 level ups for each of them at the time.
It was then,at that time that everyone noticed that Black,which was Jun,was also the person who is now Joker , current leader for the Masked Circle. Maya speculates that Jun-kun , similar to the members of the Original Masked Circle,has false memories born one way or another,and is struggling with himself right now. Thats why they all decide to find and turn him back to the gentle Jun-kun he was back then.
We exit this great dungeon,with a lot of new information in mind. Somehow,we exitted Mt.Iwato into inside the Alaya Shrine,which had many masks being displayed on a board. Wonder how these masks got here? Since I'm sure King Leo burned down the Alaya Shrine and it was rebuilt. Did Joker come back to redecorate the inside of Alaya Shrine with masks..or..?
Then,the Last Batallion strikes. With big-ass airships,spawning futuristic man-controlled robots,with propellors which enables them to fly.They've invaded Sumaru city,but what for?
Then,something else happens..Damn ever since we beat King Leo,awesome things kept happening one after the other. And when I thought every game was gonna get boring after you get past the halfway mark,oh how wrong I was!! P2:IS got even better!!More intriguing!Bravo!!!
Philemon invites us into his room (not the Velvet Room),which has a greenish scenery and a lot of butterflies fluttering about. Philemon upgrades our Default Personas (Vulcanus,Rhadamanthus,Eros,Maia) depending on what each of us did during the course of the game. If Suou lets everyone (Michel,Ginko,Maya) have their own screen-time,by doing heroic stuff one way or another,then they'll have their Personae upgraded into : Maia Prime,Eros Prime,Rhadamanthus Prime. And Suou,who gave all his friends a chance,also gets his Vulcanus upgraded to Vulcanus Prime. [Quote : Thou art I and I art Thou,Thine heart that beats for thine friends is what fuels me] .. Some epic quote like that pumped me up man,no duh!
Philemon also tells us to go to the Caracol,located on the summit of Mt. Katatsumuri (meaning Snail) and halt the Last Batallion in their tracks for
So we head for Mt Katatsumuri. There,we get a choice on whether to storm through the front or to take a roundabout but safer way to the summit through the forest. I opted for the straightforward path and boy ,I wasn't disappointed. The fights were more interesting(even though I haven't played the Forest path),and more worthwhile,since they were stronger. I trained my new Personae here and we got even more awesome Fusion Spells such as Undine and Loiseau de Feu,which means the Firebird in French..Very cool indeed. Seems like my grinding for the right cards were worth it after all! I can now KO my enemies within one round :D
So I venture higher and higher into Mt. Katatsumuri aiming for the summit,before I reach the peak though,I take a detour into the ripoff Shaolin temple.We rip some Storm Soldiers to shreds and Yukino 'inherits' the favourite camera of her husband from the Head Monk there.
As we reach the summit,we officially enter battle with the Order of the Holy Lance,which turned out to only be a robot with special technology.Pssh,claiming themselves to be Anti-Persona?I was given the choice to fight alone or with someone else,and I chose to fight with Ginko since I like her ^_^ And I also had the chance to give her 5.7K xp for winning the battle and had her catch up with the rest of the team since she split up with the team last time during the Lisa arc.
There,we find Yukino's sweetie,Fuji Shunsuke-san. He seems like the right guy for such a girl,not a bishounen like Suou,but still. :) Unfortunately,he got severely messed up while filming the Last Batallion's raid. He survived long enough to tell Maya that he lived his dream to the very end,and did not regret anything,he passed away with a content smile,leaving all people behind to mourn for him. This was the first time I saw Tatsuya with a sad expression,and I was given the chance whether to continue venturing into Caracol with or without Yukino. I chose the 'You'd deny his last request..?' and Yukino got back on her feet,despite being harsh about it. Then,Philemon came by to upgrade Yukino's persona not into Vesta Prime,but into Durga,which seems to be her 'Ultimate' Persona.Epic epic.
So now,the guide I'm following suggested that I get some new Personae to be even MORE badass than I was before by going to room 04 in the abandoned factory,and so I did. Tatsuya was close to leveling up to 36,and the guide suggested that I use Estoma before I level up to 36,so that I'd meet 哪吒 much easier. I was too lazy to get Estoma,since it would shave off more of my time,so I went in and explored literally every tile on the floor and encountering the same monsters over and over until I encountered this 'Rare Pokemon'. I got the Pao-Pei material card from him,which was required to Summon him as my Persona in the Velvet Room.
So with my new personae,I'm ready to go thrash some ass,like yea!!!Into Caracol,until then,adios.
Explored the Caracol by myself,and referred to the guide on how to get the Achilles helm,since I'm lazy to experiment which of the Teleporters are the right ones xD. After that,I moved on to the Stella Hall which shows some Loyal Masked Circle members being blasted to bits by the Storm Soldiers..Rest in Peace brahs.
After some more exploration,I have reached B4F,and a few steps into this floor,Yukino pops up to say 'Wait for me Anna'...I feel that Anna might die..And Yukino too maybe..Hope I'm not right!!'Cuz this is gonna be way too tragic........
Boss time! 3 Loginus..Lol I expected more of a challenge man!! #Yukino Rage FTW. Seems like these Longinus or even the Last Batallion know a lot of things that they shouldn't normally know. OK I understand why they're called Anti-persona units.Its not like they have the strength to stand up to Personae. Its more like they have some trick up their sleeve to temporarily seal off the Persona user's persona (like a silent ailment in FF)
Well,after some stalling,I managed to kick their asses,weren't even CLOSE to Shadow Maya..Nah I'm kidding,these 3 Longinus were quite a handful to be honest. They managed to kill Michel lol :/
Anyway,19K xp for this fight wasn't half bad ; Whats too bad is my team is too sick for only 19K xp,only 3 levelled up (once) and 2 were close to levelling up ; shows how much stronger they've gotten since the Shadow Maya fight :)
Anna asked Yukino why Yukki would give her a damn. Yukki said that she was once like..Anna and me..Wanting to chase after your dreams so much but not capable enough to reach out to it...Yearning after it so much that you're blind and oblivious to anything else in life..Sinking into depression and not wanting to do anything else..Feeling that theres nothing else to do,losing the will to live for the future..I know and am experiencing all those feelings..I'm also waiting for someone to save me,like Ms Saeko saved Yukki,like how Yukki saved Anna..Who is going to save me..?? Yukki said to calm down and take things slowly.....Maybe...
Shadow Yukki appeared,revealing to us that she had 2 dreams,to be a photographer or a teacher like Ms Saeko,the one who saved her.. As she didn't have the 'eyes' nor 'brains' to be either,she sank into depression,same as to how Anna sank into depression due to her injury,same as to how I.....Thats when Yukki threw out a piece of Golden advice to Anna..Even if you fall or lose yourself.....having to stand up again and keep going is what it means..to be HUMAN!!...
Shadow Yukino couldn't tolerate the radiance Yukki was emitting..Heck it even influenced me,the player..Shadow Yukino finally turned aggro. Yukki told us to leave her behind and she'd fight with her own Shadow Other..Damn I hope she doesn't get whupped!! Well,Anna is there with her,so I'm they'll pull off 3 types of Fusion Spells just to sweep Shadow Yukino off her feet!!...
My predictions...
After we clear Caracol Dungeon...The dungeon will collapse or self destruct..And for some weird reason,Yukino and Anna will be left behind and possibly(no,please no!!) die.. And of course,whilst clearing the dungeon we'll finally convince Joker(Jun) to get back to his senses,be a good guy and join us,in our quest to overthrow the Fuhrer. So,Yukki will die and Jun will serve as his stand in...no...no~~~~!!!!!
Then again,I hope I'm wrong :) I'm at Caracol B5F now,over and out.
Continued with the dungeon,stumbled upon another Stella Hall. Inside, it wasn't a brutal massacre of some Masked Men unlike in the last Stella Hall. Rather,its like the reflecting pool in Mt. Iwato. But here,it shows us not the 'truth',but what the Joker(Jun-kun) perceives as the truth.
In his memories, as Big Sis(Maya) broke the news to the Masked Circle that she was leaving on the next day,Lisa,Michel and Tatsuya all plotted to confine her in Alaya Shrine. Not only that,in order to keep her from moving away for sure,they agreed to kill Maya(OMG...) . In Jun's memories,Tatsuya not only did not try to stop them from confining Maya,he actually burnt down the Alaya Shrine after Maya was locked in it, in an attempt to murder her. At that time,he summoned Vulcanus to ignite the shrine.I was like,'Wow..He's good,being able to use his Persona at such a young age'.
Hence,this is the reason why Jun-kun harbors a very deep resentment against Tatsuya,Michel and Ginko,enough to try to kill them. And when he continuously mentioned their 'sin' early game,this was what he was referring to. He believed that those 3 were the cause of his and Maya's suffering.
In reality,we all know that Michel and Ginko were the ones who came up with the idea to lock Big Sis up and keep her from running that night. And Tatsuya who fiercely opposed the idea was also locked up. After blogging about it,I noticed that I didn't know what Jun-kun was doing during Tatsuya's and Maya's kidnapping. I mean,if Jun-kun were seriously standing beside and was just a spectator,it'd be a 2-on-2 situation,pitting Suou and Maya vs Michel and Lisa. In my opinion, 10 times out of 10 Suou + Maya would beat Lisa + Michel. Reason being,Michel was fat when he was a kid,and Ginko was much younger than Maya and physically weaker at the time,and I don't think Suou would have went down without putting up a good fight.
Therefore,I think rather than being the neutral guy,Kurosu Jun assisted Lisa and Michel in their kidnapping,thus making the confinement shennanigan a success. And for some odd reason, he believes / was made to believe in a fabricated truth.
Now that I've learnt of this,I realise that Jun may be the biggest victim of this whole In Lak'ech prophecy. Not only was he made to suffer,he was also forced to make other people suffer,without even asking for it. No doubt,he's the one who fell down the hardest,and I'd be stupid to be hating on him. If I were him, I'd be like 'Aaaahh..No..What have I done..!!?!?!?!?" and go crazy . But Jun,he took everything like a man,he's able to move forward without hesitation,with the courage and motivation to set things right..I'd like to be like him..eh.
Made it to the Boss Room : Rings of Time. There,was Adolf Hitler(Fuhrer) himself,looking stupid and funny. :/
We also met the final member of the Four Executives of Joker : Queen Aquarius. (No,Yoshizaka Anna was Queen Scorpio). I didn't even find out her true identity,and she died covering an attack from the highest ranked of the Order of the Holy Lance. White Longinus FTW. Well,I did hope I would notice who she was before she died,but maybe they will disclose this later.
Then comes an epic cutscene which I did not understand at all,just that I know now that Sumaru City is floating in the sky. Hmm..Adolf Hitler magically levitates and ascends out of the ruins (don't know how,since I'm sure there is a ceiling). Joker orders Shadow Tatsuya,Shadow Lisa and Shadow Michel to chase after Hitler,since he stole most of their skulls I guess. Hm.. Yeah,then I'm now going to fight with Joker,in an attempt to wake him up from his long nightmare..
Without Yukino,the fight was pretty long,but we managed to pull off somehow.. :) After the fight everyone in my party levelled up. Yeah!
Strange enough,his Persona comes out to offer him more power when he is on the verge of losing,my Persona doesn't do that! Hey!! The people of Sumaru City have spread rumours about Joker being as kind as an angel since he ordered the Masked Circle to protect the city. Thanks to that rumour, the persona (forgot the long-ass name of his) seemed to fulfil this rumour on the spot,on the cost of his Joker identity I presume ; Although I haven't confirmed yet whether or not this Persona is responsible for making rumours come true.
Thus,the persona upgraded Joker into Archangel Joker,which was a badass indeed. Good thing I had Mediarama on Maia Prime,seriously good thing. Joker hit so hard (2x Maya) and his Mahamaon killed an average of 2 of my members per cast..Serious stuff there bro.
Yeah,I beat him up rather quickly too. So,now I'm levelled up again :D
Jun came back to normal,Maya,Michel and Ginko all made happy expressions,not the normal ones ; Super glad expressions, as if they had all woken up from a long nightmare and have reunited spiritually in reality. :)
And relief relief,Yukino and Anna caught up to Tatsuya and Co before Caracol crumbled ^^ Everyone got out safely..Phew..Glad I was wrong.
Thanks to this,everyone has started advancing further spiritually,all of them digging deeper into themselves and more power keeps gushing out from within themselves.
Philemon appears to upgrade Tatsuya's,Maya's,Lisa's,Michel's personae into their ultimate form. From Vulcanus Prime > Apollo , From Eros Prime > Venus , From Maia Prime > Artemis , From Rhadamanthus Prime > Hades. Very badass indeed. Yukino decided that she can progress in life without relying on her Persona summoning abilities,so she decided to entrust her powers to the currently-powerless Jun-kun,since his abilities were presumably forced off of him by his father. By the way, I gotta mention that his father was badass enough to send chills down Yukino's/Maya's spine,which means he might be a worthy adversary for Hitler himself. Hmm.. >_>
Now I'm exploring the city and am going to do another upgrade to my offensive arsenal to generate more ass-kicking Fusion spells! By following my trusty FAQ of course.
Jun seems like a really cool guy who has a really deep understanding towards flowers and flower language..A romantic guy,to say the least!

Been quite a few days since I blogged on this,here is my progress : Completed Taurus,Aquarius and Scorpio Temple. I took a detour to kill a rumour-beast : Kudan. That critter did a Kamikaze to derank all my Personae back to one =_= Took me almost the entirety of my 99 chewing souls to rank my party's ultimate Pesonae to max rank,which was somewhere around 8. Oh well, not that I mind. :)
First,Taurus Temple. Shadow Lisa is here to guard the Wind Crystal from the Last Battalion. The Temple itself was confusing at times,but somewhat enjoyable for me,which is weird,since I don't like draggy chores,but now that I think about it , I never got bored at all while playing this game ; it was THAT fun an experience,Persona 2:Innocent Sin.
Since its been a few days,I forgot most of the dialogue,which might not be significant to some players,since you don't HAVE to talk to people to get through the game,but its cool to be able to learn about all the other characters,their personalities,their thoughts,their past,etc.
So I reached the Taurus Room,or the Boss Room. There,Shadow Lisa awaited us. As with all the Shadow-others of P2,they had creepy expressions on their faces,with more emphasis on their eyes which made them look like psychos.
Shadow Lisa revealed that Lisa's inferiority complex of not being able to speak English was not her only flaw ; Lisa accused Miho and Sheba of hanging around her becaus they wanted to be popular , but Lisa was also doing the same thing,by clinging on to Tatsuya,she just didn't want to admit it consciously. Besides,Shadow Lisa also revealed that Lisa was experimenting on drugs..I don't know if it was drugs to make her look prettier or Morphine..o_O and swindling money off of older guys.Man,Shadow Lisa makes herself sound like she is at least 18 or 19,doing all these BS.
Shortly after,Lisa admitted to all that,and said that now the only thing she knows is true is her feelings for Tatsuya,which has always been pure and sweet. She doesn't care if Tatsuya hates her or anything,as long as she has this feeling for him,that's all that matters.Although I've never been in love before,but I'm sure if there ever was true love,this is it. If Tatsuya marries Lisa,they would be happy for life,bet on it.
Anyway,Shadow Lisa got annoyed of Lisa's newfound confidence and radiance,and then,started the battle. Shadow Lisa exposed her Persona,which was Lisa's Ultimate Persona counterpart : Shadow Venus. Lisa followed suit by exposing her own Persona and declaring a fight. After beating her, Lisa got embarrassed about what she said and asked Tatsuya to forget about it. There,I was given 5 choices :
Onto the 2nd Temple,Scorpio temple. Nothing special about this temple to be honest,just that there were a SHIT LOAD of SP traps spread throughout the temple,and I had to burn through my Chewing Souls(recovers 100SP) supply very quickly.
This could be the only dungeon that I didn't completely explore,because the paths go on for a long time and you have to backtrack to the junction and take the other road to fully explore the dungeon. I was quite lazy at the time,so I entered the Scorpio Room as soon as I found it.
Shadow Ekichi was there,along with Miyabi Hanakouji. She suddenly looks different,ain't as fat anymore,and maybe the people in the game would find her cute ; not me though, only Lisa and Maya are cute in the P2 Universe.
Ekichi asked Miyabi why she would make a wish to the Masked Circle to be slimmer, and his Shadow-Other asked him : If someone who you dumped after calling him fat,comes back to you after you are more fit than him,how would you feel?
Although all of that made sense , I thought Shadow Michel was going to expose some of Michel's dirty past that we didn't know of ; seems like he didn't do anything bad without his papa knowing :P,except for the time where he confined Maya and the shrined was burnt down,but thats all in the past,right?
There is this epic exchange of challenges between the 2 Michels and their respective Personae,and the battle commences ; Quite tough, but I took them down with a few Dashing Strikes (Fusion Spell).
Later,Ekichi hugs Miyabi-san tightly and there is this 'L-O-V-E' word springing out of nowhere,happy ending for them :)
Off to Aquarius temple,which has relevance to Jun. This temple also wasn't really mind-boggling or intriguing in any way, and I breezed through it relatively quickly. I reach the Aquarius room without any trouble.
As I thought I was going to meet Shadow Jun there,appears to me that there were only Loginuses lying in wait. Makes sense since I assume that 'Joker' is the dark side of Jun,and Tatsuya + Co. already took care of Joker. With a bit of trouble,we took down 3 Loginuses,and they asked Jun whether or not he recovered all his memories,sounding like they know something about Jun's past that he himself doesn't know of.
Jun spazzes out and stutters : "..Mo...m..?".Maybe his Mom and Dad are victims or an enigma Philemon mentioned,the "Crawling Chaos",or maybe...Nah no use thinking about all that. On to the Leo Temple!
OK,continuing from the first encounter with King Leo. I really pity Maya,and am slowly liking her more and more,she seems like she had a really sad past,and the cheerful facade she puts on is used to hide her tragic past.I , as Suou hope to be able to comfort her and rid her of her trauma of King Leo,arsons and wild fires.
Next,we continue from where I left off (where my file got corrupted) during the first playthrough.
We're entering a new arc,Lisa's arc,where her friends made a wish to Joker to make the 3 of them(Lisa and her 2 friends) idols. They were given a helping hand by Ginji Sasaki,who later introduced himself as King Taurus. His whole look,together with the mask,was quite cool,if I may say so myself.
Lisa also finally disclosed why she never treated her 2 friends as true friends. She thought those two only approached her because they wanted to hang around a popular,cute girl,that boys would approach them more if they befriended Lisa.She also let out that she has been very stressed since she was a child,being a Japanese-born American. She was treated differently and discriminated due to her hair colour and caucasian appearance. When I hear this,I feel very sore inside,as you can relate to the characters in these kind of genius games,you're actually able to imagine what they'd been through and thus sympathise with them. Kudos to the game producers on this note.Lisa , similar to Maya,has a tragic past,and if only polygamy was practiced in Japan! I'd take Lisa and Maya as my wife in a heartbeat (as Suou ofc.)
After kicking Taurus' ass,he turned Lisa's pals into shadowmen,stealing their ideals. Only then Lisa realised that they truly treated her as a friend,and not a means to become popular. Though,it might have been a tad too late. Nevertheless, we're going to save you,Sheba,Mee-ho!Count on it.
By the way,I do notice that Michel and Lisa recall the same things ,like playing the Persona Games,or sharing similar dreams during their childhood. This leads me to thinking..Is it possible?? Michel-Lisa?? That event isn't too out of here,its acceptable,since when you always argue with someone,you get more intimate with the person,and if you're tired of arguing,you might even go into a mutual understanding and make up,right?
That said,I wouldn't mind if Lisa and Michel got together,but still,I'm a loyal fan of Ginko-Tatsuya. ^_^ Not to mention Michel's golden quote when I said 'Wait and See what happens' when prompted to save Lisa or hold till later. "If anything happens to Lisa,your ass is mine!" GREAT !
King Leo rigged some bombs here and there,though thats just the story and I'm more interested in the 5 main chars and the interaction between them. Aoba stadium,where we fought with King Taurus,exploded,thanks to King Leo.After the explosion,Maya's pyrophobia resurfaced,and as Tatsuya,I had the luxury to decide whether to comfort her gently or to slap her,I would choose to slap her if they didn't reveal her sad past,but since they did,I started to sympathise with Maya and opted to gently comfort her... :)
Now,I'm off to disarm the bombs King Leo planted at Hirasaka,until I progress further,Tatsuya Suou,over and out.
Woke up in the morning,cleared Smile Hirasaka dungeon in quite a relaxed manner before going to my English classes. We started out the dungeon at..the 4F toilet. We agreed to split up to look when Michel Ekichi got held up by an old lady janitor,LOL @ Michel !
With the help of my trusty walkthrough (best spoiler-free walkthrough of any game EVER).. I cleared the dungeon rather quickly. Backtracked to Smile 4F toilet,lo and behold,Michel was still being reprimanded by the janitor,lol~
Janitor was in possesion of the detonation transmitter..who'd have thought..hehe. Without her own knowledge of course.
Besides,there were demons who locked themselves up in each restroom,and came out when they noticed we discovered where the transmitter was..Like,come on,is there no better place to hide,like the ceiling or something? Or just emerge from a black portal dudes,coming out of toilets are plain comical.
There was this random Belphegor sub-boss who claimed to be a "seeker of harmony on Earth",with a badass voice actor too,too bad he never had a huge role in the game..Nah just saying.So I beat Ixquin (female cosplayer boss) and Bel rather quickly. Maya gave Ix some first aid so that she'd survive,and left Bel to die I s'ppose.
Next,off to Yumezaki GOLD.Don't remember anything special about this dungeon/building..Oh yeah. Maya's roommate named Ulala,hahah.Great boxer who is proclaimed as a beauty but has no luck with men,not that I'd care,since I'm only interested in Lisa and Maya in P2. :P
Halfway into the dungeon,I entered a random room and Tatsuya saved Maya from a gym equipment which fell down out of nowhere.Nothing else except the equipment came crashing down,and not a trace was left after the equipment hit concrete ground..Yeah it lacks logic,but this game is already SO GREAT..who cares? Entered another random room,and the same thing happened to Michel,except for the fact that Tatsuya didn't plunge in to save him,which was quite funny,and still illogical. A few hundred kilograms worth of metal just dropped on Michel,and for that much shit to 'befall' him,he only got off with a slight headache.Hell,he's as tough as the karate dude who is used as the practice dummy in KOF XIII trialls,who gets away with a small headache even after you unleash your sickest combos on him. Tough as a nail!
This dungeon was quite rushed since I had like 20 minutes to complete it,as I was rushing to go for my English classes.Never the less, the experience was quite fulfilling. Next,I encountered a guy who seems to be working for the 'Queen',in the "Masked Circle",I was all ready to enter a boss fight,when Ulala shows up and decides to kick his ass for us. Ulala is kinda strong to be taking on a boss by herslef huh.. >_>
Afterwards,King Leo gives us an invitation to Kounan airport.I'm SO READY to kick his ass,although I thought I was going to go through the other 2 executives before going for the 'King'.
Oh well. Twas a 10 minute dungeon which I wasn't allowed to save as long as I'm not done with it.Have to say it would suck if I was playing it on a PS1,where had a power outage occured,I'd have to redo the whole dungeon.TGIPSP :)
Some things worthy of note while in the dungeon : Ixquin was stranded on an airplane suspended on strings and was on the verge of crashing due to the blazing flames.WTF ? She asked King Leo later why he wanted to get rid of her but I was like -___-How the F did you get yourself into that awkward situation in the first place.
Saved some kids,let Maya do all the heroic stuff by herself...and Ixquin hugged Maya after she was saved..I expect the stereotypic "You saved me,but we're still enemies,I'll kill you!" shit,but she just cried to Maya like a sweet girl,now THATS an enemy I don't mind saving..She is sweet right to the very end..Makes me warm inside :)
Moving on..Oh yeah! I also liked the part where everyone tried to calm the children in Kounan Museum down before asking them to evacuate,but I loved how Tatsuya evacuated them : He just..STARED at them , and they knew they had to scram,for one reason or the other..LOL!
Later,King Leo drops/removes his mask,reveals himself as Tatsuya SuDou..Lol...Close enough..
I was shocked when I saw King Leo in one of my image searches for Tatsuya and saw him talk like a psychopath..Thats when I was led into thinking.."Maybe I should play Eternal Punishment too,one way or the other". Thank god it was Tatsuya SuDou who was the psycho,and not an alternative parallel world Tatsuya Suou like I previously imagined.
So,King Leo fell down from the rooftop of the Museum,through the floors and possibly right down to the first floor. When he survived,I wasn't surprised at all,and the other characters were like "WOAHH HE'S SO RESILIENT."C'mon guys
.Even cannon fodder like Hanya (boss from early-game) could survive a four-story plunge,after being SEVERELY injured by Tatsuya and Co. What makes you think that one of the top guns of the enemy team would die by dropping through 4 or more stories?!

Sure,the building was burning and on the verge of crumbling..Wait a minute..maybe THATS why Leo survived..He absorbed the flames like he does during battles!? Lol,that'd be a great explanation wouldn't it. xD. What I found rather out of this world was how Leo could get onto the flying hot weather balloon after it took flight IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEO FELL DOWN TO THE FIRST FLOOR..Yeah thats what made me more curious than how he survived a no-brainer. -_-
Kicked his ass,and we have to evacuate the children on board the crashing balloon. Thats when Tatsuya and Co. decided to get off the flying ship by manually ejecting the ship and jumping into the sea,each of them holding a set amount of children. On this note,Michel was a freaking pussy lol,didn't wanna jump off until Yukino literally kicked his ass,and he went GERONIMOOOOO! haha.
Some assholes spread rumours about the 5 including Tatsuya being terrorists and about them being behind the reason bombings. Maya cleverly staged a counter-rumour to offset this effect.
Next,we enter one of the biggest revelations in the game,which is quite a lot to write on,and also quite a lot of info to digest.Going to write about it tomorrow,off to a bit more P2 before going to bed.OVER.
Been 2 days since I updated,was kinda lazy,hmm..Damn me!
Yeah before that,Tatsuya and group decided to split up and regroup at the detective agency. Ginko was really insecure and requested to head back with Tatsuya,he was like 'Why would you wanna follow me?' ,but after seeing Ginko so 'Holeen',he agreed to let her tag along.
I was thinking that this would be special events between the two of them if I go around different parts of the town,but odd enough,Ginko was too depressed to be in the mood,as she was recalling some very,very bitter memories. Thats why after strolling around Sumaru city,I decided to just head back to the Detective Agency,since even LISA insisted that.I thought she was going to insist on staying together longer but she must be really DOWN right now..On to the agency..
There,we meet Ms.Okamura (a.k.a Miss Ideal,beats me why they would call her that..) She started spouting stuff we didn't know about yet like the Last Batallion,Maian Aliens,In Lak'Ech and so on.That aside,Maya is acting kinda weird ; she's talking like a bitch and the colour of her eyes are different from normal. At the time,I thought that Ms Ideal made Maya recall something about her own race (I thought that she was a Mayan Alien) ,and her blood started to awaken or something. Kinda cool,huh? But if that was the case,she can't be with Suou anymore so...:/
I'm not quite sure where to start myself,so I'll just interview Ms.Ideal over here.
The Last Batallion : An organisation with cutting-edge technology,but not sci-fi laser shit. And also superhuman units called the Order of the Holy Lance which boast of "Anti-Persona" capabilities, with goals to fulfil the 'Fuhrer'(Adolf Hitler)'s dreams,which is to make him a God. The Order also discovered something called the Spear of Destiny , which is a relic of Christ's miracle. And it is 'said' that whoever posseses the Spear of Destiny will rule the world..
I wonder if it being 'said' and people spreading rumours about it is the same. Like,if people spread the rumour that he who posseses the Spear of Destiny will rule the world,that means the Last Batallion,already in possesion of the Spear,is or is going to rule the world,since rumours are coming true.
Moving on,the leader of the Last Batallion seems to be the Fuhrer,and the reason he started the world war was because he wanted to drive man to the brink of extinction and hasten our evolution. I also heard about this in a movie,where that guy also said that pushing mankind to its limits,to the brink of destruction will make us evolve,so I can't say it doesn't make sense.In fact,quite the contrary,the idea is kinda cool,though I don't want to be of the majority that dies (who does? lol).
The history books have recorded him being dead by comitting suicide.But in reality (Persona 2 reality I mean),he learned some magic from the Mayan (alien) mystics which made himself immortal,being the reason he survived thus long.
Next,we enquire about the In Lak'ech. In Lak'ech means 'You are another me' in Mayan.Most likely a referrence to 'Persona'. I'll abbreviate the In Lak'ech as IL. The IL was written by Kashihara,completely based on what King Leo (Tatsuya Sudou) heard from the Mayans,hence the Oracle of Maya could be said to be completely recorded in this book.
Ms Ideal suggested that mankind has evolved too quickly,and there was one suitable explanation for that : It was because we were guided by the Mayans and advanced much further in a shorter amount of time.Although,Ms Ideal also said that the civilization that we are in right now is but a former shadow or what we once were ; something much more majestic.
Now,some things about the Mayan aliens. They came here from the Pleaides,some constellation of stars which I'm not quite sure of myself..but they're aliens with advanced technology and knowledge of sorcery/magics,and have guided the evolution of man since long ago,I know that much.
The Mayans were split into two factions and started a war amongst themselves. One group worshipped the 'Oxlahuntiku'(gods of light) and the other worshipped the Bolontiku(gods of the netherworld).Their war was big enough to 'consume' our solar system,hence almost wiping us out at one point in the past it seems. And the Christian legends of the Flood,which I also not know much about,came to due to the internal strife between the Mayan race.
The Bolontiku faction won the war,but they were so exhausted that they were forced into a slate of slumber. To this day,they are still sleeping below Sumary city,absorbing Ideal Energy from dreaming humans as the fuel for their awakening one day.And I almost missed something,we weren't wiped out due to collateral damage from the war between the Mayans,we were almost wiped out because the winning side,Bolontiku worshippers almost drove us into extinction.
Now,to 'Ideal Energy'.This energy is abstract,in contrast to heat,sound,wind energy which you can witness in life. Its a psychological energy based on our dreams,ideals,hopes for the future.This energy is heightened when we are passionate about our ideals,dreams,plans,etc. Or when our dreams come true,this energy also surges to a peak.This energy of us humans are what the Mayans use as a source of their power. The Mayans devised 'crystal skulls' to drain our Ideal energy for their own using.This very energy is also the fuel to the Mayan spaceship 'Xibalba' .
This spaceship is said to be the key to our evolution,at the cost of our near-destruction. Thats why I speculate that Xibalba contains the technology/energy to perform wide-scale destruction with relative ease,thus resulting in mankind's extinction,propelling our evolution.
Next,into Kashihara-san,who died locked up in the Clock Tower of Seven Sister's High School.He was a great history teacher who loved his students and had a passion for history. He felt guilty about teaching his students what he suspected was wrong since he knew the truth behind some things that should not be disclosed to the public and hence teaching what is written in the students' history textbooks. As he was writing the IL,he felt as if he was being watched,and consequently he was found crushed between the gears in the schools..clocktower..very gruesome indeed!! Must have been killed by the Last Batallion..but..why would they wanna kill someone who made a book about the Oracle of Maya? Because he knew too much? That would also apply to Ms Ideal but I don't see HER dying..
Into..Tatsuya Sudou (again)..He was a former Seven Sister High student,and was a timid boy who was scared of his strict father(same for me and Michel).He was also said to be a troublemaker (how the hell though can a timid boy be a troublemaker?Can't imagine) and an arsonist. Even so,he liked Kashihara-san a lot. Mr Kashihara was also the one to notice Sudou's gift in which he can hear the voices of the Mayans. Kashihara-san gently persuaded Sudou to relay to him what he heard from the Mayans and thus,the In Lak'ech/Oracle of Maya came to. Sudou liked Kashihara as he was the first person to not alienate Sudou-kun. Some time after,Sudou MIGHT have betrayed Ms Ideal + The Masked Circle and told them about Xibalba .Its only a possibility that Sudou-kun was a traitor since King Leo seemingly follows Joker,and it wouldn't do them any good to inform the Last Batallion about the Xibalba.
Hm,thanks to the recalling and short interview,I understand the story a bit better now. :D
After this,Ginko suggests that she has remembered something and leads us into Alaya Shrine,proposing to tell us about the Masked Circle and Joker if we follow her,carrying in her actions a suffocating amount of sorrow.
We follow her into Alaya Shrine,and then into Mount Iwato subsequently.
As for me,I liked Mt. Iwato as a dungeon quite a lot,maybe it was the background music,and the background itself,it was so relaxing ; and the mountain seemed to house a lot of answers,which added to the mysterious/refreshing feeling at the same time..In Mt. Iwato were several reflecting pools,each revealing Tatsuya,Michel and Ginko's time spent together when they were small. After passing through several reflecting pools,we enter a shocking revelation.. Tatsuya,Michel,Ginko,Jun, and 'Big Sis' were members of the original 'Masked Circle',which was a small community which consisted of only 5 children who wanted to have fun together by taking turns being in charge and granting the 'Boss's wishes.There was no malice present in the original Masked Circle,just lots of happiness and ideals for the future.
Tatsuya was Red,Ginko was Pink,Michel was Blue,Jun was Black and Big Sis was Yellow.I was referring to the colour of their masks by the way.
Along my path to the many reflecting pools,I picked up 4 out of the 5 masks the Masked Circle hid inside Mt. Iwato to seal off their memories and convince themselves that they nightmare they went through was just a dream. When we were in the sites where the chests containing the masks were located,there were dialogues of Michel and Ginko slowly coming in terms with themselves over what happened 10 years ago,they were very sad,but at the same time they were slowly accepting their own sins and the faults that they commited oh-so-long ago.Yukino was sympathetic to the group as a Sister would be with her younger siblings,and this 'awakened' Maya was being a jerk,but very straightforward and truthful at the same time.
Maya said that 'sorry' is the most disgusting thing that can come out of our mouths,the reason being,when you say sorry,the person who you said this to is obliged to forgive you and move on,even if they don't feel like it in the very least,that saying 'sorry' pushes the suffering from the offender to the offended.. That,is very very true. I never even doubted or wouldn't try to correct her if I had the chance. As the old saying goes,the truth hurts,but still,Yukino made a bright comeback.
Society has survived until now because we are constantly forgiving others and being forgiven by others,if not for this,humans,who are constantly at fault,can't live in harmony together with each other. As faults are inevitable,so is suffering,is what I think Yukino was trying to convey. Nice one Yukki!
At the last reflecting pool,Big Sis announced to the Masked Circle that she would be moving away after that day. Being unwilling to part with her,Michel,Ginko and Jun forcefully confined her in the Alaya shrine thinking that she wouldn't have to move if she missed the flight to her new home tomorrow. They asked Suou to help with the 'kidnapping',but Tatsuya refused and was adamant about letting Big Sis move on with her life. Guess what? Even Tatsuya was locked inside.LOL! Its funny,but the humour only lasted for a moment ; That night, King Leo came to burn down the shrine..why? I'm not sure as of yet. Then,everyone thought Big Sis had died and Suou survived,but Ginko recalled that she asked her father to call for the police,and they couldn't find ANY corpses on that day. Which meant that Big Sis was most probably still living.
Then Ginko suggested to the Co. That Joker is in fact Big Sis,since King Leo said that Joker's face was as beautiful as a goddess when he took off his mask,and that Big Sis was also as beautiful. Then,Maya showed her true colours ; It wasn't any fancy alien awakening as I had previously speculated,it was only 'Shadow Maya',an evil Maya whihc has been created by rumours spread around,and infiltrated into Tatsuya's group in an attempt to kill them after they had recalled their memories.

Surprise surprise! Maya is the Big Sis Tatsuya,Michel,Ginko and Jun loved back then! And she is still as lovable right now.
Relief,relief. The real Maya Tatsuya (and all of us) know and love,came back,to save Tatsuya and Co. from a surprise attack by Shadow Maya. And so we enter the most badass battle yet in P2.
Shadow Maya's persona kept doing 'Diamond Dust'(Shiva's move in FF) which dealt to my party 80+ damage per person. On top of that half of my team-mates were frozen most of the time. First time I ever felt the danger of losing in the game.
But something epic happened. In times of need,man really does evolve. At this time of urgency,I unwittingly stumbled across a new fusion spell that would turn the tables on Shadow Maya. It was Mediamai.At first,when the fusion spell was pulled out,nothing happened,our HP was still low as hell. But after Suou's turn,everyone started recovering a portion of their HP.Then,I checked the spell description,and it turns out that Mediamai was a HP regen for all the members in the party.Thus,I recovered 40HP each turn without trying which halved Shadow Maya's Diamond Dust threat by half,and I don't need to worry if my mates are frozen,since healing was on auto-pilot.
Yeah!Kicked her ass.Looks like even the game ITSELF recognises Shadow Maya as a big-time adversary,and awarded each of my members 17K~ XP which guranteed 2 level ups for each of them at the time.
It was then,at that time that everyone noticed that Black,which was Jun,was also the person who is now Joker , current leader for the Masked Circle. Maya speculates that Jun-kun , similar to the members of the Original Masked Circle,has false memories born one way or another,and is struggling with himself right now. Thats why they all decide to find and turn him back to the gentle Jun-kun he was back then.
We exit this great dungeon,with a lot of new information in mind. Somehow,we exitted Mt.Iwato into inside the Alaya Shrine,which had many masks being displayed on a board. Wonder how these masks got here? Since I'm sure King Leo burned down the Alaya Shrine and it was rebuilt. Did Joker come back to redecorate the inside of Alaya Shrine with masks..or..?
Then,the Last Batallion strikes. With big-ass airships,spawning futuristic man-controlled robots,with propellors which enables them to fly.They've invaded Sumaru city,but what for?
Then,something else happens..Damn ever since we beat King Leo,awesome things kept happening one after the other. And when I thought every game was gonna get boring after you get past the halfway mark,oh how wrong I was!! P2:IS got even better!!More intriguing!Bravo!!!
Philemon invites us into his room (not the Velvet Room),which has a greenish scenery and a lot of butterflies fluttering about. Philemon upgrades our Default Personas (Vulcanus,Rhadamanthus,Eros,Maia) depending on what each of us did during the course of the game. If Suou lets everyone (Michel,Ginko,Maya) have their own screen-time,by doing heroic stuff one way or another,then they'll have their Personae upgraded into : Maia Prime,Eros Prime,Rhadamanthus Prime. And Suou,who gave all his friends a chance,also gets his Vulcanus upgraded to Vulcanus Prime. [Quote : Thou art I and I art Thou,Thine heart that beats for thine friends is what fuels me] .. Some epic quote like that pumped me up man,no duh!
Philemon also tells us to go to the Caracol,located on the summit of Mt. Katatsumuri (meaning Snail) and halt the Last Batallion in their tracks for
So we head for Mt Katatsumuri. There,we get a choice on whether to storm through the front or to take a roundabout but safer way to the summit through the forest. I opted for the straightforward path and boy ,I wasn't disappointed. The fights were more interesting(even though I haven't played the Forest path),and more worthwhile,since they were stronger. I trained my new Personae here and we got even more awesome Fusion Spells such as Undine and Loiseau de Feu,which means the Firebird in French..Very cool indeed. Seems like my grinding for the right cards were worth it after all! I can now KO my enemies within one round :D
So I venture higher and higher into Mt. Katatsumuri aiming for the summit,before I reach the peak though,I take a detour into the ripoff Shaolin temple.We rip some Storm Soldiers to shreds and Yukino 'inherits' the favourite camera of her husband from the Head Monk there.
As we reach the summit,we officially enter battle with the Order of the Holy Lance,which turned out to only be a robot with special technology.Pssh,claiming themselves to be Anti-Persona?I was given the choice to fight alone or with someone else,and I chose to fight with Ginko since I like her ^_^ And I also had the chance to give her 5.7K xp for winning the battle and had her catch up with the rest of the team since she split up with the team last time during the Lisa arc.
There,we find Yukino's sweetie,Fuji Shunsuke-san. He seems like the right guy for such a girl,not a bishounen like Suou,but still. :) Unfortunately,he got severely messed up while filming the Last Batallion's raid. He survived long enough to tell Maya that he lived his dream to the very end,and did not regret anything,he passed away with a content smile,leaving all people behind to mourn for him. This was the first time I saw Tatsuya with a sad expression,and I was given the chance whether to continue venturing into Caracol with or without Yukino. I chose the 'You'd deny his last request..?' and Yukino got back on her feet,despite being harsh about it. Then,Philemon came by to upgrade Yukino's persona not into Vesta Prime,but into Durga,which seems to be her 'Ultimate' Persona.Epic epic.
So now,the guide I'm following suggested that I get some new Personae to be even MORE badass than I was before by going to room 04 in the abandoned factory,and so I did. Tatsuya was close to leveling up to 36,and the guide suggested that I use Estoma before I level up to 36,so that I'd meet 哪吒 much easier. I was too lazy to get Estoma,since it would shave off more of my time,so I went in and explored literally every tile on the floor and encountering the same monsters over and over until I encountered this 'Rare Pokemon'. I got the Pao-Pei material card from him,which was required to Summon him as my Persona in the Velvet Room.
So with my new personae,I'm ready to go thrash some ass,like yea!!!Into Caracol,until then,adios.
Explored the Caracol by myself,and referred to the guide on how to get the Achilles helm,since I'm lazy to experiment which of the Teleporters are the right ones xD. After that,I moved on to the Stella Hall which shows some Loyal Masked Circle members being blasted to bits by the Storm Soldiers..Rest in Peace brahs.
After some more exploration,I have reached B4F,and a few steps into this floor,Yukino pops up to say 'Wait for me Anna'...I feel that Anna might die..And Yukino too maybe..Hope I'm not right!!'Cuz this is gonna be way too tragic........
Boss time! 3 Loginus..Lol I expected more of a challenge man!! #Yukino Rage FTW. Seems like these Longinus or even the Last Batallion know a lot of things that they shouldn't normally know. OK I understand why they're called Anti-persona units.Its not like they have the strength to stand up to Personae. Its more like they have some trick up their sleeve to temporarily seal off the Persona user's persona (like a silent ailment in FF)
Well,after some stalling,I managed to kick their asses,weren't even CLOSE to Shadow Maya..Nah I'm kidding,these 3 Longinus were quite a handful to be honest. They managed to kill Michel lol :/
Anyway,19K xp for this fight wasn't half bad ; Whats too bad is my team is too sick for only 19K xp,only 3 levelled up (once) and 2 were close to levelling up ; shows how much stronger they've gotten since the Shadow Maya fight :)
Anna asked Yukino why Yukki would give her a damn. Yukki said that she was once like..Anna and me..Wanting to chase after your dreams so much but not capable enough to reach out to it...Yearning after it so much that you're blind and oblivious to anything else in life..Sinking into depression and not wanting to do anything else..Feeling that theres nothing else to do,losing the will to live for the future..I know and am experiencing all those feelings..I'm also waiting for someone to save me,like Ms Saeko saved Yukki,like how Yukki saved Anna..Who is going to save me..?? Yukki said to calm down and take things slowly.....Maybe...
Shadow Yukki appeared,revealing to us that she had 2 dreams,to be a photographer or a teacher like Ms Saeko,the one who saved her.. As she didn't have the 'eyes' nor 'brains' to be either,she sank into depression,same as to how Anna sank into depression due to her injury,same as to how I.....Thats when Yukki threw out a piece of Golden advice to Anna..Even if you fall or lose yourself.....having to stand up again and keep going is what it means..to be HUMAN!!...
Shadow Yukino couldn't tolerate the radiance Yukki was emitting..Heck it even influenced me,the player..Shadow Yukino finally turned aggro. Yukki told us to leave her behind and she'd fight with her own Shadow Other..Damn I hope she doesn't get whupped!! Well,Anna is there with her,so I'm they'll pull off 3 types of Fusion Spells just to sweep Shadow Yukino off her feet!!...
My predictions...
After we clear Caracol Dungeon...The dungeon will collapse or self destruct..And for some weird reason,Yukino and Anna will be left behind and possibly(no,please no!!) die.. And of course,whilst clearing the dungeon we'll finally convince Joker(Jun) to get back to his senses,be a good guy and join us,in our quest to overthrow the Fuhrer. So,Yukki will die and Jun will serve as his stand in...no...no~~~~!!!!!
Then again,I hope I'm wrong :) I'm at Caracol B5F now,over and out.
Continued with the dungeon,stumbled upon another Stella Hall. Inside, it wasn't a brutal massacre of some Masked Men unlike in the last Stella Hall. Rather,its like the reflecting pool in Mt. Iwato. But here,it shows us not the 'truth',but what the Joker(Jun-kun) perceives as the truth.
In his memories, as Big Sis(Maya) broke the news to the Masked Circle that she was leaving on the next day,Lisa,Michel and Tatsuya all plotted to confine her in Alaya Shrine. Not only that,in order to keep her from moving away for sure,they agreed to kill Maya(OMG...) . In Jun's memories,Tatsuya not only did not try to stop them from confining Maya,he actually burnt down the Alaya Shrine after Maya was locked in it, in an attempt to murder her. At that time,he summoned Vulcanus to ignite the shrine.I was like,'Wow..He's good,being able to use his Persona at such a young age'.
Hence,this is the reason why Jun-kun harbors a very deep resentment against Tatsuya,Michel and Ginko,enough to try to kill them. And when he continuously mentioned their 'sin' early game,this was what he was referring to. He believed that those 3 were the cause of his and Maya's suffering.
In reality,we all know that Michel and Ginko were the ones who came up with the idea to lock Big Sis up and keep her from running that night. And Tatsuya who fiercely opposed the idea was also locked up. After blogging about it,I noticed that I didn't know what Jun-kun was doing during Tatsuya's and Maya's kidnapping. I mean,if Jun-kun were seriously standing beside and was just a spectator,it'd be a 2-on-2 situation,pitting Suou and Maya vs Michel and Lisa. In my opinion, 10 times out of 10 Suou + Maya would beat Lisa + Michel. Reason being,Michel was fat when he was a kid,and Ginko was much younger than Maya and physically weaker at the time,and I don't think Suou would have went down without putting up a good fight.
Therefore,I think rather than being the neutral guy,Kurosu Jun assisted Lisa and Michel in their kidnapping,thus making the confinement shennanigan a success. And for some odd reason, he believes / was made to believe in a fabricated truth.
Now that I've learnt of this,I realise that Jun may be the biggest victim of this whole In Lak'ech prophecy. Not only was he made to suffer,he was also forced to make other people suffer,without even asking for it. No doubt,he's the one who fell down the hardest,and I'd be stupid to be hating on him. If I were him, I'd be like 'Aaaahh..No..What have I done..!!?!?!?!?" and go crazy . But Jun,he took everything like a man,he's able to move forward without hesitation,with the courage and motivation to set things right..I'd like to be like him..eh.
Made it to the Boss Room : Rings of Time. There,was Adolf Hitler(Fuhrer) himself,looking stupid and funny. :/
We also met the final member of the Four Executives of Joker : Queen Aquarius. (No,Yoshizaka Anna was Queen Scorpio). I didn't even find out her true identity,and she died covering an attack from the highest ranked of the Order of the Holy Lance. White Longinus FTW. Well,I did hope I would notice who she was before she died,but maybe they will disclose this later.
Then comes an epic cutscene which I did not understand at all,just that I know now that Sumaru City is floating in the sky. Hmm..Adolf Hitler magically levitates and ascends out of the ruins (don't know how,since I'm sure there is a ceiling). Joker orders Shadow Tatsuya,Shadow Lisa and Shadow Michel to chase after Hitler,since he stole most of their skulls I guess. Hm.. Yeah,then I'm now going to fight with Joker,in an attempt to wake him up from his long nightmare..
Without Yukino,the fight was pretty long,but we managed to pull off somehow.. :) After the fight everyone in my party levelled up. Yeah!
Strange enough,his Persona comes out to offer him more power when he is on the verge of losing,my Persona doesn't do that! Hey!! The people of Sumaru City have spread rumours about Joker being as kind as an angel since he ordered the Masked Circle to protect the city. Thanks to that rumour, the persona (forgot the long-ass name of his) seemed to fulfil this rumour on the spot,on the cost of his Joker identity I presume ; Although I haven't confirmed yet whether or not this Persona is responsible for making rumours come true.
Thus,the persona upgraded Joker into Archangel Joker,which was a badass indeed. Good thing I had Mediarama on Maia Prime,seriously good thing. Joker hit so hard (2x Maya) and his Mahamaon killed an average of 2 of my members per cast..Serious stuff there bro.
Yeah,I beat him up rather quickly too. So,now I'm levelled up again :D
Jun came back to normal,Maya,Michel and Ginko all made happy expressions,not the normal ones ; Super glad expressions, as if they had all woken up from a long nightmare and have reunited spiritually in reality. :)
And relief relief,Yukino and Anna caught up to Tatsuya and Co before Caracol crumbled ^^ Everyone got out safely..Phew..Glad I was wrong.
Thanks to this,everyone has started advancing further spiritually,all of them digging deeper into themselves and more power keeps gushing out from within themselves.
Philemon appears to upgrade Tatsuya's,Maya's,Lisa's,Michel's personae into their ultimate form. From Vulcanus Prime > Apollo , From Eros Prime > Venus , From Maia Prime > Artemis , From Rhadamanthus Prime > Hades. Very badass indeed. Yukino decided that she can progress in life without relying on her Persona summoning abilities,so she decided to entrust her powers to the currently-powerless Jun-kun,since his abilities were presumably forced off of him by his father. By the way, I gotta mention that his father was badass enough to send chills down Yukino's/Maya's spine,which means he might be a worthy adversary for Hitler himself. Hmm.. >_>
Now I'm exploring the city and am going to do another upgrade to my offensive arsenal to generate more ass-kicking Fusion spells! By following my trusty FAQ of course.
Jun seems like a really cool guy who has a really deep understanding towards flowers and flower language..A romantic guy,to say the least!

Been quite a few days since I blogged on this,here is my progress : Completed Taurus,Aquarius and Scorpio Temple. I took a detour to kill a rumour-beast : Kudan. That critter did a Kamikaze to derank all my Personae back to one =_= Took me almost the entirety of my 99 chewing souls to rank my party's ultimate Pesonae to max rank,which was somewhere around 8. Oh well, not that I mind. :)
First,Taurus Temple. Shadow Lisa is here to guard the Wind Crystal from the Last Battalion. The Temple itself was confusing at times,but somewhat enjoyable for me,which is weird,since I don't like draggy chores,but now that I think about it , I never got bored at all while playing this game ; it was THAT fun an experience,Persona 2:Innocent Sin.
Since its been a few days,I forgot most of the dialogue,which might not be significant to some players,since you don't HAVE to talk to people to get through the game,but its cool to be able to learn about all the other characters,their personalities,their thoughts,their past,etc.
So I reached the Taurus Room,or the Boss Room. There,Shadow Lisa awaited us. As with all the Shadow-others of P2,they had creepy expressions on their faces,with more emphasis on their eyes which made them look like psychos.
Shadow Lisa revealed that Lisa's inferiority complex of not being able to speak English was not her only flaw ; Lisa accused Miho and Sheba of hanging around her becaus they wanted to be popular , but Lisa was also doing the same thing,by clinging on to Tatsuya,she just didn't want to admit it consciously. Besides,Shadow Lisa also revealed that Lisa was experimenting on drugs..I don't know if it was drugs to make her look prettier or Morphine..o_O and swindling money off of older guys.Man,Shadow Lisa makes herself sound like she is at least 18 or 19,doing all these BS.
Shortly after,Lisa admitted to all that,and said that now the only thing she knows is true is her feelings for Tatsuya,which has always been pure and sweet. She doesn't care if Tatsuya hates her or anything,as long as she has this feeling for him,that's all that matters.Although I've never been in love before,but I'm sure if there ever was true love,this is it. If Tatsuya marries Lisa,they would be happy for life,bet on it.
Anyway,Shadow Lisa got annoyed of Lisa's newfound confidence and radiance,and then,started the battle. Shadow Lisa exposed her Persona,which was Lisa's Ultimate Persona counterpart : Shadow Venus. Lisa followed suit by exposing her own Persona and declaring a fight. After beating her, Lisa got embarrassed about what she said and asked Tatsuya to forget about it. There,I was given 5 choices :
- My heart belongs to only Maya
- My heart belongs to only Ekichi
- My heart belongs to only Jun
- .......... << (Yeah complete silence)
- I'm glad you feel that way << (To acknowledge her feelings for Tatsuya and possibly hinting that he's giving her a chance.)
Well,it doesn't take a genius to figure out that I picked the 5th option. :) Lisa blushed and said 'I'll hold you on to that,you know...' SO SWEET!
Onto the 2nd Temple,Scorpio temple. Nothing special about this temple to be honest,just that there were a SHIT LOAD of SP traps spread throughout the temple,and I had to burn through my Chewing Souls(recovers 100SP) supply very quickly.
This could be the only dungeon that I didn't completely explore,because the paths go on for a long time and you have to backtrack to the junction and take the other road to fully explore the dungeon. I was quite lazy at the time,so I entered the Scorpio Room as soon as I found it.
Shadow Ekichi was there,along with Miyabi Hanakouji. She suddenly looks different,ain't as fat anymore,and maybe the people in the game would find her cute ; not me though, only Lisa and Maya are cute in the P2 Universe.
Ekichi asked Miyabi why she would make a wish to the Masked Circle to be slimmer, and his Shadow-Other asked him : If someone who you dumped after calling him fat,comes back to you after you are more fit than him,how would you feel?
Although all of that made sense , I thought Shadow Michel was going to expose some of Michel's dirty past that we didn't know of ; seems like he didn't do anything bad without his papa knowing :P,except for the time where he confined Maya and the shrined was burnt down,but thats all in the past,right?
There is this epic exchange of challenges between the 2 Michels and their respective Personae,and the battle commences ; Quite tough, but I took them down with a few Dashing Strikes (Fusion Spell).
Later,Ekichi hugs Miyabi-san tightly and there is this 'L-O-V-E' word springing out of nowhere,happy ending for them :)
Off to Aquarius temple,which has relevance to Jun. This temple also wasn't really mind-boggling or intriguing in any way, and I breezed through it relatively quickly. I reach the Aquarius room without any trouble.
As I thought I was going to meet Shadow Jun there,appears to me that there were only Loginuses lying in wait. Makes sense since I assume that 'Joker' is the dark side of Jun,and Tatsuya + Co. already took care of Joker. With a bit of trouble,we took down 3 Loginuses,and they asked Jun whether or not he recovered all his memories,sounding like they know something about Jun's past that he himself doesn't know of.
Jun spazzes out and stutters : "..Mo...m..?".Maybe his Mom and Dad are victims or an enigma Philemon mentioned,the "Crawling Chaos",or maybe...Nah no use thinking about all that. On to the Leo Temple!
Took a while to travel through Leo Temple,it wasn't the temple itself that was long,it was because I kept procrastinating. Anyway, I enjoyed this dungeon as much as I did the other,which was a lot.
The symbol of Leo represents justice,friendship,loyalty and leadership,which Jun says suits Tatsuya.
Reached the Leo Room. I meet Shadow Tatsuya,who actually says a full sentence without me prompting him to.
This is what lurks in Tatsuya's heart : Emptiness. Dreamless. Still longing for a reason to live,the meaning of..life. I'm the same as him,and I'm sure many of us are. Shadow claims that he/they hate Jun Kurosu,because of what he did as Joker. I'm still the MC,so I could decide what he said. I told Shadow that " If I was Jun,I'd do the same". He got irritated and started the battle with me.
Well,this was a lot less personal than I thought. Wrapped the battle up in no time at all. Shadow Tatsuya only had the chance to pull off 1 or 2 attacks before he went down. Oh well. But what he said will remain in Tatsuya's heart forever : " You may have defeated me,but I am your shadow,I will be by your side forever." Its true.And I think Tatsuya acknowledges his shadow side too,just like how all the other characters accepted their own shadows,which made their ultimate Personae even more ultimate.
Later on,Maya gets a call from Tamaki-san,the girlfriend of a loser at a certain detective agency. She broke us some bad news : Ms Ideal aka MAYA Okamura got kidnapped by Prince Taurus,who I think I killed during the Lisa arc,but wasn't quite sure.
Jun said that Maya Okamura had blood suitable to be a sacrifice,known as 'Maian Maiden'. I guess Maya has some relation with Maya(Ms Ideal) that we don't know about yet,mother maybe? We'll be able to enter Xibalba through the 'Heaven's Gate',located in Seven Sisters High,the Narurato Stone,which I thought was strange previously in the beginning of the game,but never would have imagined that it would play such a crucial part in the story this late in the game. Tatsuya Suou,Over and out.
Before heading off to possibly finishing the game,I decide to drop by the theater,which I ignored for a very long time,and view a 'movie'. Of course,at the time,I didn't know what it was about. I thought it would show an anime-clip of Persona 2 and therefore decided that it wasn't going to be worthwhile nor necessary.
I chose to 'watch' the film 'School of the Heart : Part 1' , which was staged in St.Hermelin,which was the school Yukino graduated from. Contrary to my expectations, I wasn't watching a movie,but more like I'm watching what Tatsuya and Co. did thats outside of the main story ; Yeah,its a 'filler'. But unlike MOST of the fillers commonly featured in nowadays anime,this 'filler' was worth every second of my time,even after going through what I'm about to experience shortly after.
The BGM was very relaxing,I loved it. The movie starts with Maya attempting to write an article about a 'Charismatic Teacher at St.Hermelin'. The students at a certain class(Class 2-3) scored the highest in the national exams,and rumour has it that its due to their new 'teacher',Naozumi Kariyazaki.
Maya tricks Tatsuya and Co. into helping her with the article,labeling them as 'assistants' to Kariyazaki-san ,which ticked Michel off. Kariyazaki revealed that there was a social network known as Ambrosia ; only accessible to the students of class 2-3. There, the students will write about their ideal selves and Kariyazaki will 'give pointers' as to what they should do so that they achieve their dreams and become their 'ideal self'.
Maya wanted to take a peek at Ambrosia but Kariyazaki fiercely rejected. Besides that,the students were strangely obsessed with this website,completely uninterested in answering Tatsuya and Co.'s questions. Then,we stumble upon a cutie redhead known as 'Rose'. She kept going 'mmhmm mmhmm' and Michel thought she was checking him out,and Michel also went 'mmhmm'. That's our Michel for you!
She said it was her 'mission' to give 'her' a 'complete death' and asked Tatsuya not to get involved any further. We were all puzzled ; we didn't have a clue as to what Rose was talking about. Then,the party felt a 'Persona resonance' in the classroom,which resulted in Tatsuya and Co. being the focus of everyone's attention.
They left the classroom soon after,just to wind up in another 'dimension',in which the walls and 'space' was constantly warped. And Kariyazaki-san was trying to recruit Tatsuya and Co. into joining their 'classroom and have fun together',possibly due to the fact that the whole group was good looking (one way or another >_> ehem Michel) . Of course,they rejected Kariyazaki. Then,Kariyazaki spazzed out and 'unleashed' something on Tatsuya's party which hit Lisa. Afterwards,Lisa was constantly being sad,feeling nasty emotions and was crying.
Then,Rose appears to tell us that Lisa has been affected by a 'Parasite Persona' ,which places the previous host's negative emotions on the current host. Mysteriously,Rose runs away again,saying this is all her responsibility.We get to explore St.Hermelin now,not the original one ; the alternate dimension one.
After trying many doors,getting trolled by traps,we killed 'Parasite' after Parasite,and finally found the 'main parasite persona' at the time and disposed of it quickly. That was presumably the 'Boss' of School of the Heart part 1.After defeating it,we enter School of the Heart part 2.
School of the Heart part 2,where Persona 2's greatness rises by epic proportions.We pick off where we last started , which was Maya asking her friend 'Baofu' (>_>...) to hack into the school's network and find access to the social network of class 2-3 aka Ambrosia. Baofu called back,telling the party that Ambrosia was non-existent,that there isn't such a social network at all.At the time,the party was at the school courtyard ; where they find some daffodil flowers being placed in front of a monument.
Some students nearby told us that it was constantly replaced by some unknown person as an offering to 'Spring Break Alice' who committed suicide at this very school.She was constantly bullied at school,and Spring Break (presumably the holidays) were the only times she wouldn't be bullied. Just for the sake of not being bullied,she had to commit suicide during Spring Break,the time when she wasn't bullied. This is real sad..
Before that,an asshole teacher going by the name of Minato came to give the party a strict talking-to.He whipped Michel's ass good! By words.Everyone in school seems to hate him for being so strict when it comes to studies.
The gang reaches a dead end,and opts to look for Rose to ask her some more questions. We venture deep into the school to reach the boxing room,which was rumoured to be haunted and there were mysterious voices which could be heard from within the Boxing Room.
Rose repeatedly warned us not to get involved but..we couldn't back down now that we were involved. She also said that Class 2-3 was ruled by a 'Deep Sadness',something that I forgot to touch on before. Rose woefully stated that the girl everyone knows as 'Alice' is actually named Torikiri Akari.
Rose ran way abruptly,and the party chased her out of the room ; Somehow,we wound up in the other dimension again. The class rep of 2-3 infected Michel with the Parasite Persona,making him a bigger crybaby than when he was 10.
Maya asked Rose about Alice,and Rose wasn't too cooperative,then Maya snapped at Rose.Rose submitted to Maya's fury >_> . Akari seems to be Ms. Musubu Torikiri's little sister.Both of them are hot,thats a fact. The fact also stands that the one who committed suicide was Ms Musubu's little sister,who was constantly bullied and was only noticed when it was all but too late..
Akari was a kind girl who would look after the school pets voluntarily,something that the other jerks in school wouldn't even want to do. Those asses even made fun of her after her death..! Rose runs away..and we chase after her again..
After venturing through a freaking maze..the only one I didn't enjoy in the whole game,due to its complexity......I found Rose. Rose reveals..Ambrosia ain't a social website of Class 2-3. Ambrosia is being used to communicate with Akari's 'ghost'. The students are constantly texting to Akari for help in reaching their ideal selves by changing their appearances and helping in their grades. The current Class 2-3 is an illusion. The rage that Akari felt when she commited suicide was used to turn class 2-3 into an ideal classroom.Rose ran,again.
I breezed through the first floor of other-Saint Hermelin to reach floor 2,where Rose was surprisingly able to fight with a Lvl 20+ Demon toe-to-toe. Well,I intervened and made short work of it. After that,Rose rushes to Class 2-3 in an attempt to set things straight. Akari attempts to communicate with Tatsuya and Co. Akari says that she bore hatred for the school..I mean..who wouldn't..after being pushed around for no reason at all...? Completely human,completely understandable,completely tragedic,complete assholes at their finest.
She said her hatred for the school 'grew' so big that it took on a life of its own,and became something similar to a Persona. It has been revealed that the other St.Hermelin was actually a world of Akari's grief,and the demons in it were fragmented manifestations of her hatred..How much sorrow did she have to go through..damn..fuck!!
We return to the real world,and are going to deal with the main source of all Akari's grief : Her other half,located in class 2-3. We defeated the Parasite in Kariyazaki-san's heart,which made Kariyazaki and the 2 beautiful students revert back to their ordinary-looking selves. Unfortunately,the Parasites still lurked in the heart of the students.
The students repeatedly and rapidly sent requests to Akari through Ambrosia,and Akari reverted the class back into their 'ideal' counterparts. The negativity within class 2-3 thickens so much that Akari's ghost took on the form of a unique Persona - Persephone,madam of Hades. We have to battle and possibly destroy her now,here goes..*sigh*(2.9K xp for winning not bad.)
Michel,Lisa noticed the sorrow of Persephone,that the Persona itself does not want to cause harm but had no choice to..They were so sympathetic for her..so was I. The freaking bullies have been freed of the brainwashing done by Other-Akari. As soon as they came to,they mocked Persephone's form by being disgusted and branding it as a monster,without any understanding of what they had to do with this Persona - Yes,it was completely their fault that Persephone was born ; because they never treated Akari , such a kind soul,as they should have!!
All Akari wished for was a friend who understood how she felt..did she have to commit suicide..!? Of course there are going to be someone who can see you for who you are ; This world isn't COMPLETELY made of assholes..you know..... :"(
Other-Akari didn't seem like she was going down yet,and looked like she was ready to go for round 2. Of course..I'm sure that Tatsuya and Co. know better than to do that...It was then revealed that Musubu Torikiri,Akari's sister was the one who turned her into a ghost,by offering her Daffodils consistently and harnessing her hatred and turn this class into an ideal class through the use of Ambrosia.
Enraged,as we all are,rushed to find Ms Musubu to give her a good spanking. Musubu had her own dilemma. The police were too incompetent to root out the cause of Akari's death,which was peer-bullying. Then,they just shrugged off the case as an everyday suicide. This made Musubu mad..and although I can't feel what she's feeling,I'm sure I can't blame her,since the world turned her this way. She was just another victim,similar to her late,younger sister..
Hero 登场 ! Minato-sensei steps in and gives Musubu a lecture.A meaningful one at that.A great one.
He said that you cannot have a bright future if you keep worshipping the past.
She ragefully asked Minato-sensei what he would know about her -their suffering. Minato said without a second thought,that he indeed did not know how they felt..
Thats because we're human beings..We can't understand anything unless we communicate!!
If we don't discuss things,we will fall prey to misunderstandings,false assumptions,and will never come to agree on anything. Like sharpening a knife to hurt other people who have been in your heart,all along. Like how I'm sure I'm hurting my family..even though I don't hope for that,I am making no conscious effort to really avoid saddening them...
Minato-sensei gently persuaded Musubu to talk it out with him ; share her worries with him ; tell him about her fears,her sadness,her frustration,her anger ; pour out all her sorrow on him ; let him bear the burden with her together . Thats what it means,to be,a teacher..That she is not alone in this world,nor was her unfortunate sister..Akari..
Minato-san supposedly beat the Persona by just talking to Musubu and clearing the doubts and sorrow she shouldered alone,for a whole..12...freaking..years..
As soon as all is settled,Rose appears. And she says Akari's spirit will be able to rest in peace now..Thank god..Thank god.
Musubu didn't know who they were talking to. Apparently, Rose was a spirit ; A spirit of the pet that Akari took care of the most before she died ; the spirit of a pig.
Pig(Rose) stated that Akari committed suicide because of itself throwing a fit over the fact that its mealtime and brushing away what Akari was telling it,which was obviously the things she were facing and whatnot. Feeling guilty,Rose-kun took on the mission to make Akari's spirit rest in peace,although Tatsuya and Co. did the most in helping.
Rose thanked them and headed back to where Akari was. Together. Forever. :)
At Shiraishi Ramen, Lisa says that Musubu should have just talked it out with Minato-san,and none of this would have happened.
Maya said something very true that would apply to me and many more people. That people with a lot of problems stop being able to see everything around them..They don't realize that their actions only make things worse for them,and they sink lower and lower until they cannot get out....!! :(
Ahha,funny thing though,Michel ordered a pork belly,and the gang reminded Michel of Rose..He took back his order and went for plain noodles..heheh ^^

It seems that at some point in your life,life suddenly expects you to be and act like an adult. You may think of this as a misfortune. However,you need not carry this burden by yourself. That's because you can depend on adults.. They made that transition into adulthood before you did,and know how to deal with tragedy. So,if your life is touched by a tragedy,you can speak to an adult about it.Adults are always trying to pay back the next generation for the same thing that was done for them back when they were children themselves.
And...DONE!!!! One of the most epic 3 hours that I had spent in ANY GAME...^___^
School of the Heart,Part 1 & 2, complete. Aaaaaaaaand,fade out!
There is one more 'movie' that I haven't blogged about,and probably won't blog about,which is 'Persona Thief'. This movie wasn't bad,but it wasn't as mesmerizing as the other arcs/stories they have in the game.
For now,we're almost at the finish line,maties! We're going off to Xibalba,via Seven Sisters High School,the place where the game started,and also the place which sends us to the final part of the game,so to say, the site of Beginnings and Endings.
So I saved outside Sevens High and have stopped the game for about a week,since I have gotten slightly bored of it and went to play Persona 3 Portable,which is also on my PSP. I'm back though,because I notice that if I neglect this game any longer,I would have been the same as I always was ; Stopping in front of the finish line. I decided to come back to P2IS even if I did give myself a little push.
Anyway,we enter Sevens High to see a random male student standing in the hallway,we talk to him and notice that the Last Battalion has held all of the students hostage in certain classrooms. He barely escaped and is going to run out of the school now that he has conveyed the message to Tatsuya and Co.
We thought we were going to whoop some ass for each room we went into,but surprise surprise,Principal Hanya really showed up,as a hero for his students this time. He said Tatsuya's party really woke him up by giving him a good beating,and that now he is putting his powers into good use,by saving his students from the Last Battalion.
This time , for sure,his students love him,not due to a wish,but due to his own efforts. Jun says Hanya is one of the few people who truly have had their ideals realised in this(their) world.So,Hanya might have saved this room,but that doesn't mean the other rooms are safe,right? With that in mind,we rushed off to the other classrooms to save the other students who were held hostage.Who knew...
Hanya again. Although he was standing inside the classroom before we left,when we reached another classroom,he was already there ; Michel suspected he had super speed,while as for me,I'm thinking 'clone',or that the real Hanya is dead and his spirit has come by to set things right. Well,either way is fine to me,but I hope it isn't the latter,which can be quite tear-jerking if Hanya becomes any more likable than he already is.
So,with the school under Hanya and Ms Saeko(Yukino's saviour) jurisdiction,we decide to head over to Xibalba with one load off our shoulders.There was a pillar of light surrounding the Narurato stone,piercing into the heavens. Although I did not comprehend Jun's explanation about the entrance to Xibalba,I understand that we just have to step into it and row down the Silver(Amano) River that it takes us to,to reach Xibalba.
So,we board the ray of light and enter the Silver River. There was a boat conveniently waiting for us at the river,and no one was even worried that it might have been a trap.Anyway,when prompted about who would like to take the head,Maya volunteered almost immediately. I'm sure at that moment,the party (except Jun) recalled Yukino's good-willed advice : "DO NOT LET MAYA DRIVE ANYTHING." Even so,no one could stop an excited Maya.She willed everyone onto the boat and manned the boat. After losing control of the boat and going haywire (knocking into walls like a pinball and ending up at the same place which they set off),Maya finally decides to let omnipotent Tatsuya Suou-kun do the manning. ^____^
The boat was on auto-pilot,independent of the player's controls.At first,I thought that I was controlling the movement of the boat,since it moved wherever I wanted it to,with a slight delay that made me curious. The truth is,the boat was being manned by Suou and not me. I had tricked myself. Anyway,something else which was unbelievable was the frequency of enemy encounters whilst on the boat.I mean,we're moving downsteam very quickly,not to mention there is such limited spacing on the boat. Is it any place to carry out a battle,and if it was,where the heck are we supposed to stand?Oh well,this plothole was so minor that I would forget about it as soon as I blog about something else.
Anyway,Lisa was talking about how bored she was,and Michel whipped out this epic question which came into reality : "What do you actually expect to happen,that we crash down a waterfall like in the movies?" Lo and behold,a waterfall was in sight,and everyone was like "NO WAY!!" but they still fell down the boat nonetheless. xD
I thought they were gonna place everyone's landing spots in a 'lovers pairing' fashion but there wasn't any pattern as such. Michel fell flat on his face,Jun and Tatsuya landed beside each other,and Maya and Ginko landed right next to each other. I was sort of expecting Tatsuya and Maya on each other,Ginko and Michel on each other,and maybe Jun landing on his feet like a cat.Haha,wrong,but nothing to be down over. xP
So I guess this means if you decide to enter Xibalba through the Narurato stone,everytime you will have to fall down a waterfall and survive,to be able to enter the spaceship. Wow indeed.
So....before entering Xibalba,Michel was curious about any high-tech traps the Mayan people might have designed within Xibalba and asked Tatsuya for his opinion. I chose 'Superheating' over 'Lazers'.My prophecy came true. :O As soon as all of us entered Xibalba,the entrance was shut off,preventing us from escaping,and the Superheating mechanism was activated. Just as everyone was feeling so hot I thought the girls/guys might have stripped,but instead Maya just wills everyone to go into the next room by neglecting the heat. Lisa claimed that Big Sis was a bit overly optimistic. xD
In Xibalba,we entered a few special rooms which showed the past that was locked in Maya's and Jun's heart. First,we entered the room showing Jun's past,during the time everyone was having fun in the Masked Circle(The real one.)
Jun's father bought him a portable telescope in which he brought to the temple to show off to his friends. They all praised him and he in turn,said that he was proud for having such a father.Seems like Jun loves his father a lot. Then came some little dicks that told Tatsuya and Co. about Jun's mother telling their mother that her husband was a 'deadbeat'. They kept bugging Jun about it. Unable to stand by and watch anymore,Tatsuya and Maya stood up for Jun. Tatsuya beat the kids good forcing them to run to their mommies. Due to this memory, Jun is hesitant to take down his father,but if it is for the good of the world, he has no other choice. Despite what the others might think,he is always proud and happy of his father.
In that room,the conversation with Michel :"It was our father who made us into who we are today,but they are also the first obstacle we have to pass,in the process of growing up into an adult." That makes sense,and applies to you,me,Maya,Ginko,and possibly everyone else who has parents. Good point you made,Ekichi.
Next,we enter a room showcasing Maya's past. Her father took her to Alaya Shrine to pray for a dream and that it would come true. After praying,her father asked her what her dream was.Innocent Maya replied that her dream was for her father to stay home with her and her mother forever. It pained them both to hear that her father,who was a journalist will be sent to the battlefields during a war. Her father told her that this was the dream he always had while growing up,and that he would come back to them without a doubt.. Even so,as little as she was,Maya knew the odds were very low. She was just a child but her thoughts were very mature for someone her age. She tried her best to hold back her tears and her father teased her that "Mr Bunbun will laugh at you if you cry,you know!" This was probably the last time they have ever spoken. By the way Maya speaks,you can tell that her father was lost forever,in the warzone.
This bitter memory still has a large effect on her,even now. She felt so sad that she wanted to cry out,but she was too embarrassed to do so. Tatsuya stepped up,and asked Maya to cry it all out. No need to hold it in,cry it all out.The party sat down around Maya to console her and attempt to cheer her up. She then brought up a poem which carried this meaning : Its bad to be exiled ; Its worse to be dead ; but to be forgotten,is the worst. If you're forgotten,it means there will be no prove that you ever existed in this world,that you never ever lived. To be exiled,you can still start your life anew,even if the conditions are harsh.But if you die,you won't have another chance to engrave your existence in others' memories. So Maya's poem made a lot of sense this time around.
Michel said,sometime ago,that its great to be able to make your dreams come true,but shouldn't we consider the people we are leaving behind ; their feelings..? Yeah,Michel.This makes you better than Junpei,100 times. You do cool stuff and say sensible things some of the time,as opposed to Junpei's none of the time. Sorry for comparing you to Junpei,I know its insulting. You rock Michel.
Then,we enter another room where Lisa sat down on the floor complaining to have walked a great distance,and was whining for Trish's healing spring,while Ekichi was crying for Igor and the Velvet Room to switch Personas. While those 2 were throwing a tantrum Jun surveyed the room and found 2 doors,each leading to Ekichi and Lisa's much needed commodities. Each of them ran into each room without waiting for the rest of the team. Again,each of us split up into groups of 2 to retrieve Michel and Lisa,the comedy duo. Jun and Tatsuya were teamed while Maya went in to fetch Lisa alone.
When the 2 went into the door reading 'Trish's Spring',they entered a trap door in which the walls were rapidly closing in on each other,threatening to flatten Tatsuya and Jun into pancakes. Jun said time out on the heat of the moment,and the walls actually moved back. He was amazed and stopped talking,and the walls came closing in again. He asked the walls to fall back again and the walls actually obliged. Here comes the question.
So,we come across the Xibalba Terminal,where there was a teleporter which was connected to another one in Sevens High,Class 1-C.Pretty convenient I must say. Michel mistook the teleporter for a stage,in which he could dance and sing,and as soon as he stepped on it,he got teleported to god knows where. Jun,who panicked over Michel's safety,followed suit and plunged into the teleporter without a second thought.Maya came after.Lisa,who was the calmest(or the one who is so panicked that she can't move) was the last to jump into the teleporter,only because Tatsuya did so.Haha!
So we traverse down Xibalba,aiming to reach the greatest depths,to confront Hitler(Fuhrer) and Jun's father. For now,over and out.
We pass through a room,expecting another visit to the past. Instead,we encounter Prince Taurus and his gooneys,well,their corpses,at least. Upon further inspection,his face was supposedly charred black,possibly due to setting of traps or some sort,but why did no one suspect the existence of a rare beast roaming wild inside Xibalba? That would be nasty. We move on regardless.
We enter another room this time,which also did not bring the party back to the past. Instead,everyone was just speculating on how much farther they have to travel until they reach the Fuhrer/Jun's father. Jun said there was still a ways to go,while Michel said that we've already travelled this far,he must be very nearby. Looking like she is on to something,Maya asks Tatsuya for his thoughts. As Tatsuya, I could agree with Michel,Lisa(who didn't care),or Jun. As Jun sounded very logical about it,I was coaxed by his logic,into agreeing with him. A few moments after I made that decision,I started to regret it,since I believed(at the time) that everything the party believed in(the majority) is going to be the truth.I regretted,but I wasn't going to load the game from my previous save point,as it has been nearly an hour's worth of journeying since I saved. Oh well,exploring new areas is better than going through old places you've already explored.
Into the next room,we go back into the past.Which featured the day the other members of the Masked Circle met Jun's father. It was the time for everyone to go home,presumably evening,and everyone was waiting for their parents to pick them up. Jun,on the other hand,was insecure,since he was worried that his 'Uncle' might be the one coming instead of his father.Maya understood how Jun felt,as she too had no father to take her home. She was planning to take Jun home,until his father actually showed up and offered to bring him home. His father looked EXACTLY the same as Mr Kashihara,the guy who died in the clock tower.Just that their clothes were different.I mean,yeah its possible to change your clothes and all,derp.
Everyone complimented Jun-kun and his father.But Jun seemed very reluctant and afraid for some reason..I'm puzzled..Is it possible that this person was not the 'Father' Jun adores? I won't know,yet.
So now there are 2-3 guys whose identities are shrouded in mystery :
The symbol of Leo represents justice,friendship,loyalty and leadership,which Jun says suits Tatsuya.
Reached the Leo Room. I meet Shadow Tatsuya,who actually says a full sentence without me prompting him to.
This is what lurks in Tatsuya's heart : Emptiness. Dreamless. Still longing for a reason to live,the meaning of..life. I'm the same as him,and I'm sure many of us are. Shadow claims that he/they hate Jun Kurosu,because of what he did as Joker. I'm still the MC,so I could decide what he said. I told Shadow that " If I was Jun,I'd do the same". He got irritated and started the battle with me.
Well,this was a lot less personal than I thought. Wrapped the battle up in no time at all. Shadow Tatsuya only had the chance to pull off 1 or 2 attacks before he went down. Oh well. But what he said will remain in Tatsuya's heart forever : " You may have defeated me,but I am your shadow,I will be by your side forever." Its true.And I think Tatsuya acknowledges his shadow side too,just like how all the other characters accepted their own shadows,which made their ultimate Personae even more ultimate.
Later on,Maya gets a call from Tamaki-san,the girlfriend of a loser at a certain detective agency. She broke us some bad news : Ms Ideal aka MAYA Okamura got kidnapped by Prince Taurus,who I think I killed during the Lisa arc,but wasn't quite sure.
Jun said that Maya Okamura had blood suitable to be a sacrifice,known as 'Maian Maiden'. I guess Maya has some relation with Maya(Ms Ideal) that we don't know about yet,mother maybe? We'll be able to enter Xibalba through the 'Heaven's Gate',located in Seven Sisters High,the Narurato Stone,which I thought was strange previously in the beginning of the game,but never would have imagined that it would play such a crucial part in the story this late in the game. Tatsuya Suou,Over and out.
Before heading off to possibly finishing the game,I decide to drop by the theater,which I ignored for a very long time,and view a 'movie'. Of course,at the time,I didn't know what it was about. I thought it would show an anime-clip of Persona 2 and therefore decided that it wasn't going to be worthwhile nor necessary.
I chose to 'watch' the film 'School of the Heart : Part 1' , which was staged in St.Hermelin,which was the school Yukino graduated from. Contrary to my expectations, I wasn't watching a movie,but more like I'm watching what Tatsuya and Co. did thats outside of the main story ; Yeah,its a 'filler'. But unlike MOST of the fillers commonly featured in nowadays anime,this 'filler' was worth every second of my time,even after going through what I'm about to experience shortly after.
The BGM was very relaxing,I loved it. The movie starts with Maya attempting to write an article about a 'Charismatic Teacher at St.Hermelin'. The students at a certain class(Class 2-3) scored the highest in the national exams,and rumour has it that its due to their new 'teacher',Naozumi Kariyazaki.
Maya tricks Tatsuya and Co. into helping her with the article,labeling them as 'assistants' to Kariyazaki-san ,which ticked Michel off. Kariyazaki revealed that there was a social network known as Ambrosia ; only accessible to the students of class 2-3. There, the students will write about their ideal selves and Kariyazaki will 'give pointers' as to what they should do so that they achieve their dreams and become their 'ideal self'.
Maya wanted to take a peek at Ambrosia but Kariyazaki fiercely rejected. Besides that,the students were strangely obsessed with this website,completely uninterested in answering Tatsuya and Co.'s questions. Then,we stumble upon a cutie redhead known as 'Rose'. She kept going 'mmhmm mmhmm' and Michel thought she was checking him out,and Michel also went 'mmhmm'. That's our Michel for you!
She said it was her 'mission' to give 'her' a 'complete death' and asked Tatsuya not to get involved any further. We were all puzzled ; we didn't have a clue as to what Rose was talking about. Then,the party felt a 'Persona resonance' in the classroom,which resulted in Tatsuya and Co. being the focus of everyone's attention.
They left the classroom soon after,just to wind up in another 'dimension',in which the walls and 'space' was constantly warped. And Kariyazaki-san was trying to recruit Tatsuya and Co. into joining their 'classroom and have fun together',possibly due to the fact that the whole group was good looking (one way or another >_> ehem Michel) . Of course,they rejected Kariyazaki. Then,Kariyazaki spazzed out and 'unleashed' something on Tatsuya's party which hit Lisa. Afterwards,Lisa was constantly being sad,feeling nasty emotions and was crying.
Then,Rose appears to tell us that Lisa has been affected by a 'Parasite Persona' ,which places the previous host's negative emotions on the current host. Mysteriously,Rose runs away again,saying this is all her responsibility.We get to explore St.Hermelin now,not the original one ; the alternate dimension one.
After trying many doors,getting trolled by traps,we killed 'Parasite' after Parasite,and finally found the 'main parasite persona' at the time and disposed of it quickly. That was presumably the 'Boss' of School of the Heart part 1.After defeating it,we enter School of the Heart part 2.
School of the Heart part 2,where Persona 2's greatness rises by epic proportions.We pick off where we last started , which was Maya asking her friend 'Baofu' (>_>...) to hack into the school's network and find access to the social network of class 2-3 aka Ambrosia. Baofu called back,telling the party that Ambrosia was non-existent,that there isn't such a social network at all.At the time,the party was at the school courtyard ; where they find some daffodil flowers being placed in front of a monument.
Some students nearby told us that it was constantly replaced by some unknown person as an offering to 'Spring Break Alice' who committed suicide at this very school.She was constantly bullied at school,and Spring Break (presumably the holidays) were the only times she wouldn't be bullied. Just for the sake of not being bullied,she had to commit suicide during Spring Break,the time when she wasn't bullied. This is real sad..
Before that,an asshole teacher going by the name of Minato came to give the party a strict talking-to.He whipped Michel's ass good! By words.Everyone in school seems to hate him for being so strict when it comes to studies.
The gang reaches a dead end,and opts to look for Rose to ask her some more questions. We venture deep into the school to reach the boxing room,which was rumoured to be haunted and there were mysterious voices which could be heard from within the Boxing Room.
Rose repeatedly warned us not to get involved but..we couldn't back down now that we were involved. She also said that Class 2-3 was ruled by a 'Deep Sadness',something that I forgot to touch on before. Rose woefully stated that the girl everyone knows as 'Alice' is actually named Torikiri Akari.
Rose ran way abruptly,and the party chased her out of the room ; Somehow,we wound up in the other dimension again. The class rep of 2-3 infected Michel with the Parasite Persona,making him a bigger crybaby than when he was 10.
Maya asked Rose about Alice,and Rose wasn't too cooperative,then Maya snapped at Rose.Rose submitted to Maya's fury >_> . Akari seems to be Ms. Musubu Torikiri's little sister.Both of them are hot,thats a fact. The fact also stands that the one who committed suicide was Ms Musubu's little sister,who was constantly bullied and was only noticed when it was all but too late..
Akari was a kind girl who would look after the school pets voluntarily,something that the other jerks in school wouldn't even want to do. Those asses even made fun of her after her death..! Rose runs away..and we chase after her again..
After venturing through a freaking maze..the only one I didn't enjoy in the whole game,due to its complexity......I found Rose. Rose reveals..Ambrosia ain't a social website of Class 2-3. Ambrosia is being used to communicate with Akari's 'ghost'. The students are constantly texting to Akari for help in reaching their ideal selves by changing their appearances and helping in their grades. The current Class 2-3 is an illusion. The rage that Akari felt when she commited suicide was used to turn class 2-3 into an ideal classroom.Rose ran,again.
I breezed through the first floor of other-Saint Hermelin to reach floor 2,where Rose was surprisingly able to fight with a Lvl 20+ Demon toe-to-toe. Well,I intervened and made short work of it. After that,Rose rushes to Class 2-3 in an attempt to set things straight. Akari attempts to communicate with Tatsuya and Co. Akari says that she bore hatred for the school..I mean..who wouldn't..after being pushed around for no reason at all...? Completely human,completely understandable,completely tragedic,complete assholes at their finest.
She said her hatred for the school 'grew' so big that it took on a life of its own,and became something similar to a Persona. It has been revealed that the other St.Hermelin was actually a world of Akari's grief,and the demons in it were fragmented manifestations of her hatred..How much sorrow did she have to go through..damn..fuck!!
We return to the real world,and are going to deal with the main source of all Akari's grief : Her other half,located in class 2-3. We defeated the Parasite in Kariyazaki-san's heart,which made Kariyazaki and the 2 beautiful students revert back to their ordinary-looking selves. Unfortunately,the Parasites still lurked in the heart of the students.
The students repeatedly and rapidly sent requests to Akari through Ambrosia,and Akari reverted the class back into their 'ideal' counterparts. The negativity within class 2-3 thickens so much that Akari's ghost took on the form of a unique Persona - Persephone,madam of Hades. We have to battle and possibly destroy her now,here goes..*sigh*(2.9K xp for winning not bad.)
Michel,Lisa noticed the sorrow of Persephone,that the Persona itself does not want to cause harm but had no choice to..They were so sympathetic for her..so was I. The freaking bullies have been freed of the brainwashing done by Other-Akari. As soon as they came to,they mocked Persephone's form by being disgusted and branding it as a monster,without any understanding of what they had to do with this Persona - Yes,it was completely their fault that Persephone was born ; because they never treated Akari , such a kind soul,as they should have!!
All Akari wished for was a friend who understood how she felt..did she have to commit suicide..!? Of course there are going to be someone who can see you for who you are ; This world isn't COMPLETELY made of assholes..you know..... :"(
Other-Akari didn't seem like she was going down yet,and looked like she was ready to go for round 2. Of course..I'm sure that Tatsuya and Co. know better than to do that...It was then revealed that Musubu Torikiri,Akari's sister was the one who turned her into a ghost,by offering her Daffodils consistently and harnessing her hatred and turn this class into an ideal class through the use of Ambrosia.
Enraged,as we all are,rushed to find Ms Musubu to give her a good spanking. Musubu had her own dilemma. The police were too incompetent to root out the cause of Akari's death,which was peer-bullying. Then,they just shrugged off the case as an everyday suicide. This made Musubu mad..and although I can't feel what she's feeling,I'm sure I can't blame her,since the world turned her this way. She was just another victim,similar to her late,younger sister..
Hero 登场 ! Minato-sensei steps in and gives Musubu a lecture.A meaningful one at that.A great one.
He said that you cannot have a bright future if you keep worshipping the past.
She ragefully asked Minato-sensei what he would know about her -their suffering. Minato said without a second thought,that he indeed did not know how they felt..
Thats because we're human beings..We can't understand anything unless we communicate!!
If we don't discuss things,we will fall prey to misunderstandings,false assumptions,and will never come to agree on anything. Like sharpening a knife to hurt other people who have been in your heart,all along. Like how I'm sure I'm hurting my family..even though I don't hope for that,I am making no conscious effort to really avoid saddening them...
Minato-sensei gently persuaded Musubu to talk it out with him ; share her worries with him ; tell him about her fears,her sadness,her frustration,her anger ; pour out all her sorrow on him ; let him bear the burden with her together . Thats what it means,to be,a teacher..That she is not alone in this world,nor was her unfortunate sister..Akari..
Minato-san supposedly beat the Persona by just talking to Musubu and clearing the doubts and sorrow she shouldered alone,for a whole..12...freaking..years..
As soon as all is settled,Rose appears. And she says Akari's spirit will be able to rest in peace now..Thank god..Thank god.
Musubu didn't know who they were talking to. Apparently, Rose was a spirit ; A spirit of the pet that Akari took care of the most before she died ; the spirit of a pig.
Pig(Rose) stated that Akari committed suicide because of itself throwing a fit over the fact that its mealtime and brushing away what Akari was telling it,which was obviously the things she were facing and whatnot. Feeling guilty,Rose-kun took on the mission to make Akari's spirit rest in peace,although Tatsuya and Co. did the most in helping.
Rose thanked them and headed back to where Akari was. Together. Forever. :)
At Shiraishi Ramen, Lisa says that Musubu should have just talked it out with Minato-san,and none of this would have happened.
Maya said something very true that would apply to me and many more people. That people with a lot of problems stop being able to see everything around them..They don't realize that their actions only make things worse for them,and they sink lower and lower until they cannot get out....!! :(
Ahha,funny thing though,Michel ordered a pork belly,and the gang reminded Michel of Rose..He took back his order and went for plain noodles..heheh ^^

It seems that at some point in your life,life suddenly expects you to be and act like an adult. You may think of this as a misfortune. However,you need not carry this burden by yourself. That's because you can depend on adults.. They made that transition into adulthood before you did,and know how to deal with tragedy. So,if your life is touched by a tragedy,you can speak to an adult about it.Adults are always trying to pay back the next generation for the same thing that was done for them back when they were children themselves.
And...DONE!!!! One of the most epic 3 hours that I had spent in ANY GAME...^___^
School of the Heart,Part 1 & 2, complete. Aaaaaaaaand,fade out!
There is one more 'movie' that I haven't blogged about,and probably won't blog about,which is 'Persona Thief'. This movie wasn't bad,but it wasn't as mesmerizing as the other arcs/stories they have in the game.
For now,we're almost at the finish line,maties! We're going off to Xibalba,via Seven Sisters High School,the place where the game started,and also the place which sends us to the final part of the game,so to say, the site of Beginnings and Endings.
So I saved outside Sevens High and have stopped the game for about a week,since I have gotten slightly bored of it and went to play Persona 3 Portable,which is also on my PSP. I'm back though,because I notice that if I neglect this game any longer,I would have been the same as I always was ; Stopping in front of the finish line. I decided to come back to P2IS even if I did give myself a little push.
Anyway,we enter Sevens High to see a random male student standing in the hallway,we talk to him and notice that the Last Battalion has held all of the students hostage in certain classrooms. He barely escaped and is going to run out of the school now that he has conveyed the message to Tatsuya and Co.
We thought we were going to whoop some ass for each room we went into,but surprise surprise,Principal Hanya really showed up,as a hero for his students this time. He said Tatsuya's party really woke him up by giving him a good beating,and that now he is putting his powers into good use,by saving his students from the Last Battalion.
This time , for sure,his students love him,not due to a wish,but due to his own efforts. Jun says Hanya is one of the few people who truly have had their ideals realised in this(their) world.So,Hanya might have saved this room,but that doesn't mean the other rooms are safe,right? With that in mind,we rushed off to the other classrooms to save the other students who were held hostage.Who knew...
Hanya again. Although he was standing inside the classroom before we left,when we reached another classroom,he was already there ; Michel suspected he had super speed,while as for me,I'm thinking 'clone',or that the real Hanya is dead and his spirit has come by to set things right. Well,either way is fine to me,but I hope it isn't the latter,which can be quite tear-jerking if Hanya becomes any more likable than he already is.
So,with the school under Hanya and Ms Saeko(Yukino's saviour) jurisdiction,we decide to head over to Xibalba with one load off our shoulders.There was a pillar of light surrounding the Narurato stone,piercing into the heavens. Although I did not comprehend Jun's explanation about the entrance to Xibalba,I understand that we just have to step into it and row down the Silver(Amano) River that it takes us to,to reach Xibalba.
So,we board the ray of light and enter the Silver River. Michel fell flat on his face,Jun and Tatsuya landed beside each other,and Maya and Ginko landed right next to each other. I was sort of expecting Tatsuya and Maya on each other,Ginko and Michel on each other,and maybe Jun landing on his feet like a cat.Haha,wrong,but nothing to be down over. xP
So I guess this means if you decide to enter Xibalba through the Narurato stone,everytime you will have to fall down a waterfall and survive,to be able to enter the spaceship. Wow indeed.
So....before entering Xibalba,Michel was curious about any high-tech traps the Mayan people might have designed within Xibalba and asked Tatsuya for his opinion. I chose 'Superheating' over 'Lazers'.My prophecy came true. :O As soon as all of us entered Xibalba,the entrance was shut off,preventing us from escaping,and the Superheating mechanism was activated. Just as everyone was feeling so hot I thought the girls/guys might have stripped,but instead Maya just wills everyone to go into the next room by neglecting the heat. Lisa claimed that Big Sis was a bit overly optimistic. xD
In Xibalba,we entered a few special rooms which showed the past that was locked in Maya's and Jun's heart. First,we entered the room showing Jun's past,during the time everyone was having fun in the Masked Circle(The real one.)
Jun's father bought him a portable telescope in which he brought to the temple to show off to his friends. They all praised him and he in turn,said that he was proud for having such a father.Seems like Jun loves his father a lot. Then came some little dicks that told Tatsuya and Co. about Jun's mother telling their mother that her husband was a 'deadbeat'. They kept bugging Jun about it. Unable to stand by and watch anymore,Tatsuya and Maya stood up for Jun. Tatsuya beat the kids good forcing them to run to their mommies. Due to this memory, Jun is hesitant to take down his father,but if it is for the good of the world, he has no other choice. Despite what the others might think,he is always proud and happy of his father.
In that room,the conversation with Michel :"It was our father who made us into who we are today,but they are also the first obstacle we have to pass,in the process of growing up into an adult." That makes sense,and applies to you,me,Maya,Ginko,and possibly everyone else who has parents. Good point you made,Ekichi.
Next,we enter a room showcasing Maya's past. Her father took her to Alaya Shrine to pray for a dream and that it would come true. After praying,her father asked her what her dream was.Innocent Maya replied that her dream was for her father to stay home with her and her mother forever. It pained them both to hear that her father,who was a journalist will be sent to the battlefields during a war. Her father told her that this was the dream he always had while growing up,and that he would come back to them without a doubt.. Even so,as little as she was,Maya knew the odds were very low. She was just a child but her thoughts were very mature for someone her age. She tried her best to hold back her tears and her father teased her that "Mr Bunbun will laugh at you if you cry,you know!" This was probably the last time they have ever spoken. By the way Maya speaks,you can tell that her father was lost forever,in the warzone.
This bitter memory still has a large effect on her,even now. She felt so sad that she wanted to cry out,but she was too embarrassed to do so. Tatsuya stepped up,and asked Maya to cry it all out. No need to hold it in,cry it all out.The party sat down around Maya to console her and attempt to cheer her up. She then brought up a poem which carried this meaning : Its bad to be exiled ; Its worse to be dead ; but to be forgotten,is the worst. If you're forgotten,it means there will be no prove that you ever existed in this world,that you never ever lived. To be exiled,you can still start your life anew,even if the conditions are harsh.But if you die,you won't have another chance to engrave your existence in others' memories. So Maya's poem made a lot of sense this time around.
Michel said,sometime ago,that its great to be able to make your dreams come true,but shouldn't we consider the people we are leaving behind ; their feelings..? Yeah,Michel.This makes you better than Junpei,100 times. You do cool stuff and say sensible things some of the time,as opposed to Junpei's none of the time. Sorry for comparing you to Junpei,I know its insulting. You rock Michel.
Then,we enter another room where Lisa sat down on the floor complaining to have walked a great distance,and was whining for Trish's healing spring,while Ekichi was crying for Igor and the Velvet Room to switch Personas. While those 2 were throwing a tantrum Jun surveyed the room and found 2 doors,each leading to Ekichi and Lisa's much needed commodities. Each of them ran into each room without waiting for the rest of the team. Again,each of us split up into groups of 2 to retrieve Michel and Lisa,the comedy duo. Jun and Tatsuya were teamed while Maya went in to fetch Lisa alone.
When the 2 went into the door reading 'Trish's Spring',they entered a trap door in which the walls were rapidly closing in on each other,threatening to flatten Tatsuya and Jun into pancakes. Jun said time out on the heat of the moment,and the walls actually moved back. He was amazed and stopped talking,and the walls came closing in again. He asked the walls to fall back again and the walls actually obliged. Here comes the question.
- Is Jun's power as the Joker still lurking within him,regardless of his own will?
- Is Jun(and his father) one of the Mayans,and not Maya who is one?
- Are the walls alive?
So,we come across the Xibalba Terminal,where there was a teleporter which was connected to another one in Sevens High,Class 1-C.Pretty convenient I must say. Michel mistook the teleporter for a stage,in which he could dance and sing,and as soon as he stepped on it,he got teleported to god knows where. Jun,who panicked over Michel's safety,followed suit and plunged into the teleporter without a second thought.Maya came after.Lisa,who was the calmest(or the one who is so panicked that she can't move) was the last to jump into the teleporter,only because Tatsuya did so.Haha!
So we traverse down Xibalba,aiming to reach the greatest depths,to confront Hitler(Fuhrer) and Jun's father. For now,over and out.
We pass through a room,expecting another visit to the past. Instead,we encounter Prince Taurus and his gooneys,well,their corpses,at least. Upon further inspection,his face was supposedly charred black,possibly due to setting of traps or some sort,but why did no one suspect the existence of a rare beast roaming wild inside Xibalba? That would be nasty. We move on regardless.
We enter another room this time,which also did not bring the party back to the past. Instead,everyone was just speculating on how much farther they have to travel until they reach the Fuhrer/Jun's father. Jun said there was still a ways to go,while Michel said that we've already travelled this far,he must be very nearby. Looking like she is on to something,Maya asks Tatsuya for his thoughts. As Tatsuya, I could agree with Michel,Lisa(who didn't care),or Jun. As Jun sounded very logical about it,I was coaxed by his logic,into agreeing with him. A few moments after I made that decision,I started to regret it,since I believed(at the time) that everything the party believed in(the majority) is going to be the truth.I regretted,but I wasn't going to load the game from my previous save point,as it has been nearly an hour's worth of journeying since I saved. Oh well,exploring new areas is better than going through old places you've already explored.
Into the next room,we go back into the past.Which featured the day the other members of the Masked Circle met Jun's father. It was the time for everyone to go home,presumably evening,and everyone was waiting for their parents to pick them up. Jun,on the other hand,was insecure,since he was worried that his 'Uncle' might be the one coming instead of his father.Maya understood how Jun felt,as she too had no father to take her home. She was planning to take Jun home,until his father actually showed up and offered to bring him home. His father looked EXACTLY the same as Mr Kashihara,the guy who died in the clock tower.Just that their clothes were different.I mean,yeah its possible to change your clothes and all,derp.
Everyone complimented Jun-kun and his father.But Jun seemed very reluctant and afraid for some reason..I'm puzzled..Is it possible that this person was not the 'Father' Jun adores? I won't know,yet.
So now there are 2-3 guys whose identities are shrouded in mystery :
- The guy who wrote the In Lak'ech and died in the clock tower.
- Jun's father.(Supposedly the villian)
- Jun's uncle.
One of them is Jun's father,the one he was proud of,but which is which? And for some reason,Jun is very afraid of his mother.Jun went crazy after this scene,and the members of the Masked Circle(original) were there for him,ofc.
We enter another room,which had 4 Longinus lying in wait for us. From #1 to #4. #1 was colored differently (coated white),but he wasn't any better than his other 3 friends in battle. The only thing they might have had on me was their Persona-sealing ability,which was temporary. I'm glad they weren't as smart as they should have been,or else they could have sealed all 5 of my Personas and forced me to fight them with auto-attacks,which might have then been more difficult.Boom shakka-lakka.Won the battle.
Now,we enter room #? (lost count but IDC) Here,Maya was expecting the Fuhrer or Jun's dad,but neither were spotted,when asked about why she thought this way,she told us she had a rough idea about the way things work,but things weren't definite yet. She told the team that our thoughts might be becoming a reality within this giant spaceship. But that didn't seem to be the case since she focused or thought about it all the time but the thought didn't turn into a reality. And then,she thought that maybe negative thoughts or fearful ones were 'given priority' to be made into reality. There were no proof or any concrete evidence about this mysterious phenomenon,so the bottom line Maya drew for the team was NOT to think about anything bad or scary,for now.
As soon as Michel heard about the word 'scary',thoughts of his father arose. The thought of his father being a master of various martial arts became real,and his father (fullmetal) came out from the wall,seemingly made of the same material the Xibalba walls are,to confront the party.The whole party pissed on him,asking :"WHAT DID WE JUST TELL YOU!?".C'mon he's afraid of daddy,so are most of us. >_> This was a boss fight by the way.
Into another room,in which thoughts of Jun's mother manifested itself into another boss fight for the party.This is bad. Jun got so freaked out that he couldn't participate in the battle and strangely,he is turning more transparent ; literally. Jun had Sif on him,my only persona which had Electric-based spells. With Electric spells (Zio) and tackle,from my Persona Cerberus,I could pull a fusion spell named Dashing Strike,which hits for an awful lot if its on a single enemy.So Sif was missing,and this boss is miraculously immune to magic attacks. This seems like the Jun and his makeshift mother are trying to shit on the 4 of us. Oh well,we pulled through by casting Tarukaja(raise attack) on everyone and finishing her off with only basic attacks/physical skills.
When the battle ended,Jun's existence was in such jeopardy that he might have disappeared on the spot due to his 'mother' loathing his existence,telling him that it would have been better had he not been born and were she not tied to his father. What a mom that is,huh? She almost killed her child,just by feeling that way,since Xibalba is believed to turn (negative) thoughts into reality,Jun must have kept thinking that it would be better had he not existed.But me,Tatsuya,and the others think otherwise.We know although Jun's methods were twisted,his good intentions weren't.He just wanted to help people realize their dreams easier,but that idea backfired by ruining many's lives instead.Still,this shows he is a very kindhearted person and is also only a victim of something much more sinister than the 'Joker'. Possibly the 'Crawling Chaos' Philemon keeps mentioning.
Then,we come across a room which was very peculiar indeed. A room which appeared to be the slumbering chamber of the 'Bad' Mayans-The Bolontiku(as opposed to the Oxhilantiku).Ms Ideal(Okamura) looked crazier than ever. She awakened the sleeping Mayans,and the party came in at this time. Jun asked her to stop and revealed to everyone that he was the son of the dead Kashihara,and Ms Ideal accused Jun of being like his mother,hindering his father's ideals.She even said that she would have been a better wife for his father than his mother ever will be. Well,this indicates Ms Ideal had the hots for Mr Kashihara,although it wasn't THAT unexpected. The Bolontiku awaken from their slumber and slap Ms Ideal hard,causing her to faint,take that biatch.Then,9 Bolontiku had awoken,but it was a 5V5 fight.
Maya told us to pay caution since its weird that their numbers matched ours,so I followed her advice. And Jun said the Mayan people had the Power of the Stars with them,similar to us(Persona). So I thought each of the Bolontiku's powers matched 1 of our team member's powers and all that. It seems that wasn't so,or maybe I just wiped them out so quickly that I didn't notice.
Afterwards,we conclude that this Mayan slumber-chamber was a result of Ms Okamura's imaginations and nothing more. She imagined this whole room,and the inhabitants within it.Which brings the party back to 1 more question. If Kashihara was Jun's father and also the one who wrote the In Lak'ech and died in the clocktower,then who was the one who claimed to be Jun's father and took him home that day? The others concluded that Jun's 'uncle' was Mr Kashihara's 'shadow-other',without the different colored eyes,whom he imagined and kept telling the Masked Circle about how great he was,thus making this 'rumour' into a reality.In reality Mr Kashihara was already dead.After they agreed on the fact,they were astonished to learn that rumours were getting turned into reality THAT long ago,before Jun turned into Joker. That means a sinister and evil power has been working behind the scenes for that long of a time.And they feel that whoever is messing with them,he/it/she is up ahead in Xibalba,awaiting their arrival.I'm getting hyped up about this so-called 'Crawling Chaos'. Lets see what it is,shall we?
Alrighty,I'm outside the final boss room,and am ready to wrap this game up..sad as it maybe! >=) Lets enter..Heart of Xibalba..
I was really expecting a very spacious room with weird altars but as soon as we opened the door we got teleported to another place which reminded me of the place Philemon frequently took us to.Although that place had a green background this place was totally dark,making what lies outside unknown,although Maya speculates this is outer space.
As we were talking,Hitler lands on the platform Tatsuya and the others stood in.He literally landed,from hovering/floating/flying in the air.....First thing Jun asks is :"WHERE IS THAT MONSTER?!(his father)"
Maya tells Hitler that we(Tatsuya and Co.) has everyone who can utilise the crystal skulls utterly beat,implying to Hitler that he was on his last straw,possibly. But Hitler was badass enough to make a comeback,saying that the crystal skull was merely a diversion.Damn,thats cool of him.He brings out his fencing rapier and we initiate bettle with him,of wait,its a spear.The Spear of Destiny. And he also has a Persona it seems,Nyarlatyhotep..Lol.
He says he was going to answer all our questions after we beat him,ALRIGHT,PREPARE TO LOSE!
His Persona was 2 times bigger than any Persona/Devil I have ever encountered,even bigger than a Taranis/Minotaur,and with a good reason.He is the last boss,isn't he? ^_^
He was also the only boss to be able to regenerate his HP after each turn without really casting a skill beforehand. He was also the first boss to be able to cast a 'time bomb' skill where my characters would die 2 turns after if they did not evade/block that skill,namely Michel and Jun,sucks to be them! At first I thought my characters were dying due to Hitler's passive or from some random disease,but it seemed Omega Cluster was their cause of death. His Persona also had a skill which could seal off our Persona for some time,similar to the Longinus' skill which could 'mute' the party,aka Holy Lance.Hm,what else,oh yeah,his Holy Grail skill.Made him invulnerable for 2 turns no matter what shit we threw at him,so I just went ahead and braced my team up for his next attack by setting everyone in their defensive stance. His persona also turns weird when he uses Holy Grail.Hm.Well,we beat him,game over!!!:D
Or so I thought,as the walkthrough implies,another tougher fight seems to be coming right up.
..Wow...Wow..Seems like Hitler posed as Jun's father and is the False/Other Kashihara...Uber plot twist eh...And the place they are in,is not outer space or anywhere far from Earth,they were simply in the place where 'human ego' (souls) are born.Where souls are born,and where they return to,when we die,supposedly. That said,this is a realm similar to where Philemon frequently summons us to.
Turns out,the Crystal Skulls,Xibalba,the whole shenanigan about this huge spaceship pushing Earth to near extinction,to fuel our evolution,was all a hoax. We humans were just trying to rationalize(devise a plan that made sense) a 'shortcut' for us to evolve into higher beings. Hitler/Fake Kashihara referred to us humans as nothing more than guinea pigs.
They asked 'Him' who he was, and he said he was Jun's father. He said he was manifested by Jun's feelings and yearning for his father that died,confirming everyone's earlier theories about the False Kashihara's existence. Then,with his powers,he brought out the real,deceased Kashihara,who is crucified and floating in the air.
The real Kashihara admitted to writing his hopes in the In Lak'ech,that he hoped that the next generation would be Idealians so that humans need not have suffered anymore,ultimately realising that his efforts were futile,saying "The people's hearts cannot create anbythning if they rely on a dream to search for their dreams."
And it turns out that 'Queen Aquarius',the mysterious person who took a blow for Joker at the Caracol and died without speaking a word,was in fact Jun's mother.Wow,what shocking revelations.Just when we thought her mother couldn't give less of a damn to her husband and son,she actually hopes for her child's safety and well-being,before drawing her last breath.And turns out,Jun's mother was Junko Kurosu,who was the one rumored to have fallen in love with a teacher,and also the Miss Sevens that was as beautiful/more beautiful than Lisa.I have to agree on that,she IS hot. And this also answers my question on why Jun didn't have 'Kashihara' anywhere in his name ; its because he took on his mother's surname,even though he condemned his mother..
'He' also brought out Jun's mother's soul,also having it crucified and floating in thin air.She apologised to Jun for blindly chasing her own dreams and being oblivious to all else.Then,he obliterates Jun's parents in cold blood,fwoosh.This pissed everyone off,especially Maya,who stated that she never hated anyone more in her whole life.
Then,the second battle draws near. 'He' says that if he really felt like it,he would be able to wipe the party out without lifting a finger,since this was 'His' dimension. Now thats what a 'god' should be talking about,wiping people without lifting a finger,yeah! Unlike wannabe 'gods'(Fullmetal Alchemist,Bleach) who are just abnormally powerful but perceive themselves as an omnipotent being. If you are a GOD,you have to talk and act like one! You WIPE out your enemies' existences,not go into battle with them and let them possibly wipe the floor with your ass!
Still,Maya was headstrong , "If I have defeat a second thought,I'd never be able to reach my dreams!" By the way,EPIC BACKGROUND MUSIC PLAYING! Enter the final stretch...
Damn,Great Father is nasty,in many ways. First,his looks are nasty. His body composition resembles that of a human, he has the torso,which isn't anything out of the ordinary. The part of the body which is supposed to be the 'head' is actually his main body. The other 4 limbs of his are 4 separate,(apparently living) humans,which are attached to the main body.Anyway,this one boss gets 5 turns,as each 'member' of his body can utilise their own skills to deal damage to the party. I have to say,he might not deserve the title 'God',but he does deserve the title as the Last Boss of the epic game,Persona 2:Innocent Sin.
He gets 5 turns,NO FAIR! Oh,we also get 5 turns. We get to do fusion spells,but he doesn't,well I guess the joke is on him. :P But Hold on,he has skills which can instantly KO me,so I guess..Its fair between us :/
Destroyed all 4 of his limbs..Going in for the kill! This match was much easier than it was supposed to be,thanks to the walkthrough by ThatGuy4913 hosted on GameFaqs.Really appreciate his making my playthrough of this game much more enjoyable...:)

I was expecting "No,this can't be...I am the All-Powerful..This cannot be happening to meeeeeeeeee!"
Alas,Philemon shows up,calling the Him the Crawling Chaos,Nyarlathotep.It seems he wasn't Hitler's Persona,he was actually he himself.Confusing eh.>_>
Anyway,it seems that Philemon and Nyarlatothep(Crawling Chaos) are acquaintances,and have specific roles in regards to human souls. Philemon leads the individuals with strong hearts/wills and fosters their power,letting them stand up on their own two feet. CC,on the other hand,was tasked with dragging the weak ones into the abyss. Seeing as all of humanity relied on Joker's powers and were expecting Xibalba to turn them into Idealians,he concluded that all of humanity was weaked and intended to wipe them out,until we defeated him,that is.
Philemon stated that if there were more people like Tatsuya and Co. in this world,perhaps humans could one day really reach the level of 'Idealians',without any strings attached.So it seems that CC and Philemon were orchestrating everything,up to this very moment,although CC wasn't expecting his own defeat.
Suddenly,Ms Okamura warped in,behind Maya,and stabbed her with the freaking Spear of Destiny..That was random..and by the way,wasn't CC in possession of the Spear just now? How did Ms Ideal come in and pull out this random stunt? By the way she warped around the platform like it was nothing. Perhaps she is also one of Philemon and CC..?
Ginko tried healing Maya with her Persona Spells,but it seems that he who is stabbed by the Spear of Destiny will keep spilling blood endlessly..This was supposedly a very very strong rumour passed down 2000 years ago by people on Jesus Christ who was stabbed by this spear,and supposedly never stopped bleeding..Said Crawling Chaos.
OMG..Maya..you're..dying..??="(
The 4th part to Maya's 'Poem'. What's worse than being exiled is being dead,what's worse than being dead is being forgotten,and what's worse than being forgotten is chaining down other people..No..How can you say that?! She asks everyone to forget about her...
Michel :"You promise you'd be there for my debut show!!"
Ginko :"C'mon,your clothes are just stained,lets go shopping and buy you a new one,okay?"
Jun :"I'll show you all my favourite place,its a wonderful place blooming with pretty flowers.."
Maya :"Thanks everyone....You have all..Grown so strong.."
....No..!!!!!!....
Maya :"Everyone has the power to achieve their dreams,don't give up on hope...."
And then she dies.....=(
Apparently Maya was one of those with strong blood relations to the Mayan Aliens it seems,and she served as the 'sacrifice' instead of Ms Ideal herself..BITCH!!!!...Due to the In Lak'ech prophecy being fulfilled,CC proceeded according to the prophecy : The destruction of Humanity.
He laughed at the party. Telling them "The undeniable truth of the world is,some things cannot be changed!" Although I want to believe otherwise..Is there anything that can bring hope to this situation..?
And anyway,it seems that it wasn't Ms Ideal after all,just a 'clone' of Crawling Chaos. Almost fooled me there. That explains why she could teleport around the room and also possessed the Spear of Destiny.
Philemon gives us one last hope to erase all this tragedy,which was to change the past ; so that none of them(Tatsuya,Michel,Lisa,Maya,Jun) during that summer break. So that they wouldn't confine Maya in the shrine.So that Joker wasn't born..Doing so will give birth to another future,in which they didn't know each other for real,and none of this tragedy would have occurred.
But the one with the power to change the past isn't Philemon,it is true the power of 'will' that these strong people possess,power strong enough to change reality,strong enough to rival that of the illusory Crystal Skulls,Xibalba..Strength that they have fostered together,as a team.. He is only a 'catalyst' to enable the rewriting of the past to occur.
True enough to the bonds they have fostered,they refused to reset the past,to nullify their fateful meeting on that day. Yeah,our bonds will not be broken that easily...!!!
Then,Philemon tells them that there is really no alternative to this,Crawling Chaos' existence is due to the 'shadow' that lurks in the heart of humanity,which isn't anything like your ordinary shadow,which is individual.This guy here,Nyarlatothep,was the shadow of ALL HUMANITY,making him that large of a negative entity,more than a god,I'd say he resembles the Devil.
At a loss for choices,Ekichi desperately suggests that we show Nyarlatothep who is boss again.Wait,I misinterpretted that. Ekichi actually means he doesn't want to let CC have his way,that he would be willing to sacrifice his past,so that none of this would have happened,so that humanity's souls would not have become so fragile thanks to Joker and his Ideal-granting powers,fragile enough to cause the whole world to be devoured by Nyarlatothep's negativity.
They all concentrate and each of them return to the past,to prepare to walk down a new future. Before going back,Lisa gives Tatsuya her first kiss(?),taking him by surprise,aww how sweet.<3 She says this will be something for her to remember Tatsuya by.
Then,Tatsuya,being the last person to go back,was privileged to be able to interact with Philemon before returning and rewriting the past. I was given the choice of either hitting or thanking him. I wanted to hit him,for treating the 6 of us (Yukino included) and all of humanity as guinea pigs. But I suppose this was a task given to him that he couldn't ignore,and he was just doing what he thought was right,just like the rest of us.At least he helped us all this way,and even though it was Game Over for us,he even offerred us a very extreme 'Try again'..I thanked him..and he 'welcomed' Tatsuya,praying that they break the chains of Destiny and remember one another...
Michel : "If we meet again,you come join my band,OK?" << Sure bro.. :)
Lisa: "Chinyan,I won't forget about you,I love you!" << Me too =)
Jun: " I won't forget about my sins,about you,nor about anyone else.I won't say goodbye,but thank you." << Stay strong bro!
Time winds back to when the game first started : Seven Sisters High,the parking lot for bicycles and motorcycles. Tatsuya was tending to his motorcycle until someone came to tell him Ms Saeko was looking for him.Apparently his bike got busted.The random dude suggested he take a train home,since Tatsuya wasn't good at repairing stuff.Afterwards,Ms Saeko came to him personally,instead of the other way around.
This scene was different from how it originally was : 2 Wannabe punks came up to him looking for a fight,and Tatsuya slowly awakens to his Persona,following a talking-to by Principal Hanya.Also,I had to roam the whole freaking school to find Ms Saeko.
She asked Tatsuya whether or not he had plans for the future.Well,I was given a choice,and I picked 'yes'. Because I knew I wasn't as empty as I thought I was,not anymore..!
Ms Saeko let Tatsuya off the hook,just after answering 1 question,and she didn't doubt him too,this time around,by accusing him of 'saying the right things only to please her',because this time around,Tatsuya was confident as hell when he said that.
By the way,Lisa was stalking Tatsuya-kun. She was then found out by her friends,Sheba and Mee-Ho. This time around,she treated them as genuine 'best friends',and not just acquaintances or annoyances like before.
So Michel is already going to start on his band,and it seems like he never broke up with Hanakouji 'Kozy' Miyabi. That,or they got back together after breaking up a while and Michel went on a diet. =P They were short of 1 member,and Ken(Michel's lackey) suggested they recruit Tatsuya Suou,the hottest guy in Sevens. They're getting back together already. =)
Now,onto Jun.He is at the TV studio,awaiting his superstar mother to finish filming her movie.Seems like they are on good terms,eh. :) He gave her a flower,a Sweet Pea. He also told his mother about his dream : To be a teacher,like his father. Delighted,her mother said she would cook for the family and have a once-in-a-while dinner together.
Maya,Yukino,Lisa,Michel&Miyabi and Tatsuya pass through the train station,where Tatsuya and Maya bump into each other.Then,an animated scene follows,where Maya hits on her cute Kouhai and everyone meets again at this sweet reunion....:)

My dreams..Although I would be hurting my family members if I chased after it..I would be hurting myself if I gave it up..so I'll lock my dreams up for now,save it for until I earn the power to realize it..and then chase after it,when my parents know they can trust me with my own future...
Shoutout to everyone else : Don't give up on your dreams,they are what makes each of us special. Pursue it! This is what it means to live,don't just live your life because you're afraid of dying..! Hot girls are important,but so is fulfilling your ideals ; THAT is when you will feel the most alive!
Bearing this in my heart,I will NEVER,EVER consider giving up my dream again,which is,to be a proffesional basketball player,and dominate like Michael Jordan. Although it may have to wait,but I will do my best to see this dream through.
Words cannot describe how significant and fun this game was to me.Thanks to this blog,I'll re-read it everytime my memory of this game becomes even slightly blurred.
